A vehicle battery that includes a partially hollow battery shell, shock-absorbing material, and a mounting base. The battery shell has an upper section and a stepped-in lower section, the lower section having a sidewall and a floor. The shock-absorbing material is attached to the sidewall of the lower section of the battery shell and has a lower edge that extends below the floor of the lower section. The mounting base is attached to the lower edge of the shock-absorbing material and is spaced from the floor of the lower section of the battery shell to isolate the battery shell from a vehicle surface on which it is supported.

Battery with integrated shock and vibration protection features

A battery case for securing and mechanically isolating a battery from a vehicle having an OEM battery holder. The battery case includes an adapter for securing the battery case to the vehicle. The adapter is configured for placement within a receiving cavity defined by the OEM battery holder. The adapter has a footprint that is substantially identical to the footprint of the battery. The adapter further has securement features that are substantially identical to the securement features on the battery. The battery case further includes a lower battery containment plate for supporting the battery thereon. The battery case still further includes at least one shock absorbing element positioned between the adapter and the lower battery containment plate for absorbing shocks and vibrations received from the vehicle so as to mechanically isolate the battery from the vehicle. The battery case still further includes an upper battery containment plate for placement over the battery for retaining the battery between the lower and upper battery containment plates.

Battery case

An integrated battery and shock and/or vibration isolation assembly broadly comprising a battery and an isolation assembly. The isolation assembly broadly comprises a battery support tray and a number of shock absorbing elements. The shock absorbing elements are positioned between the battery and battery support tray and each include a shock absorbing portion configured to mechanically isolate the battery from vibrations and/or shocks transferred from a vehicle, other machine, or operating environment.

Integrated battery and vibration and/or shock isolation assembly

A battery holder comprises a jacket, an upper plate, and a retainer bracket. The jacket forms an open-topped chamber and includes an upper outwardly extending lip. The upper plate and the retainer bracket are fastened to the upper lip for securing a battery in the open-topped chamber. Another embodiment of the battery holder comprises a lower mat, an upper mat, and a strap. The lower mat and the upper mat include at least one pad formed of shock-absorbing material and having a number of openings for allowing the pad to bulge outwardly and flex inwardly. Another embodiment of the battery holder comprises a lower mat and a number of clips. The lower mat includes a shock absorbing pad. The clips secure a battery to the lower mat and include a number of slits for preventing the battery from sliding.

Boat hydrofoil

A battery holder for securing a battery to a vehicle and for mechanically isolating the battery from the vehicle is provided. The battery holder includes a vehicle mounting plate, a lower battery containment plate, an upper battery containment plate, a number of spacer rods, and a number of shock absorbing elements. The lower battery containment plate and the upper battery containment plate secure the battery to the shock absorbing elements. The shock absorbing elements prevent vibrations and shocks from being transferred from the vehicle to the battery.

A hydrofoil having an integrated yoke-bridge to preclude expansion of the channel defined by the yoke when the hydrofoil is secured to the cavitation plate. The single piece hydrofoil is secured to the cavitation by lateral screws passing through the hydrofoil and engaging the side of the cavitation plate. Additionally, one or two holes are optionally drilled through the single piece hydrofoil and through the cavitation plate followed by insertion of bolts passing through the hydrofoil and the cavitation plate.

Hydrofoil boat stabilizer

A battery holder for securing a battery to a vehicle and for mechanically isolating the battery from the vehicle is provided. The battery holder includes a vehicle mounting plate, a battery containment plate, and a number of shock absorbing elements. The battery containment plate includes a number of open-topped cells for retaining leaking battery liquid therein. The shock absorbing elements prevent vibrations and shocks from being transferred from the vehicle to the battery.

Marine hydrofoil

An adjustable skeg has a body formed by sidewalls including a closed bottom or base. The sidewalls converge to form a leading edge and a trailing end. The top is generally open and the top and sidewalls define a cavity for receiving a skeg or stub. The skeg may also be of unitary construction with the lower drive unit/gear case of a boat motor. The top and bottom portions of the trailing end project rearwardly to form extensions beyond a central portion of the trailing end. A torque vane is pivotally mounted between the top and bottom extensions. The vane is pivotable to subtend a preselected angle with a respective sidewall for eliminating steering torque. A plurality of receivers is positioned on either the top or bottom extension for locking the vane in place following adjustment. The receivers are identified by respective indicia for calibrating adjustment of the torque vane.

Adjustable skeg

A hydrofoil boat stabilizer having a cross-sectional area with the configuration of a true hydrofoil is provided. The hydrofoil includes a slip-on yoke designed to compressively fit on a cavitation plate of a boat motor lower drive unit. The wings of the hydrofoil include at least one angle of attack, and preferably, a plurality of angles of attack. The hydrofoil is shaped to reduced drag and minimize cavitation. A low-drag surface is included on at least a portion of the outer surface of the hydrofoil.

A boat stabilizer that is attachable to the anti-cavitation plate or other structure of the lower drive unit of a boat motor without permanently modifying the structure of the anti-cavitation plate or other structure is provided. The shape and size of the boat stabilizer causes the stabilizer to effectively harness and control the thrust energy generated by the propeller resulting in improved thrust and fuel efficiency. Due to various features, the drag associated with the boat stabilizer is kept to a minimum. Finally, decals and other decorative elements are integrally embedded into the top surface of the inventive boat stabilizer using in-mold decoration ('IMD') technology which makes the elements resistant to ultra-violet light, virtually indestructible and highly appealing. A boat motor, a method of attaching a boat stabilizer to a boat motor and a method of molding a boat stabilizer having at least one decorative element integrally embedded in the top surface thereof are also provided.

Boat stabilizer, boat motor and related method

A strap apparatus for holding a foldable boat seat including a seat back pivotally connected to a seat base in a folded down position is provided. The strap apparatus comprises an elongated strap body that is made of a material having a high stretch resistance, a first fastener for attaching the strap body to the seat base, and a second fastener for removably attaching the strap body to the seat back such that when the strap body is attached to the seat back, at least a portion of the strap body extends between the first fastener and the second fastener. Strap adjustment apparatus are associated with the strap body and function to adjust the length of the portion of the strap body that extends between the first fastener and the second fastener when the strap body is attached to the seat back and thereby allow the seat back to be pulled down tight against the seat base. A foldable boat seat and a method of installing a replacement foldable boat seat strap on a foldable boat seat are also provided. The adjustable strap apparatus is also useful in general marine and other applications.
