Providing an operator with information concerning radiation dose associated with an imaging operation is disclosed. In certain embodiments, the dose information may be provided in conjunction with indicators related to reference dose levels to facilitate evaluation of the dose in the context of the reference levels. The dose information may be based on real-time assessment of dose or may be an expected dose based on a proposed or planned sequence of exposure events. Further the indication may be prospective, providing an indication to the operator of when certain dose thresholds may be crossed.

Methods and apparatus for archiving x-ray fluoroscopy images are provided. One method includes receiving fluoroscopic images from a fluoroscopic imaging system and storing all of the received fluoroscopic images during an image acquisition scan by the fluoroscopic imaging system. The received fluoroscopic images are displayed during the image acquisition scan.

Methods and apparatus for archiving X-ray fluoroscopy images

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide an improved system and method for image file header configuration. Certain embodiments of the method include retrieving one or more criterion for configuration of an image orientation parameter, configuring the image orientation parameter based on the one or more criterion, obtaining image data, and storing the image data in an image file. The image file has a header portion including the image orientation parameter. In an embodiment, the image orientation parameter may be modified from a default configuration. The one or more criterion may include user preference, modality restriction, system preference, and/or rule, for example. The method may further include saving the image file with the configured image orientation parameter. Additionally, the method may include displaying an image according to the configured image orientation parameter. The image may be automatically oriented for display based on the configured image orientation parameter.

System and method for definition of DICOM header values

In one embodiment, a portable radiological imaging system includes a portable base station having an X-ray source and a power supply, a wireless X-ray detector configured to receive X-ray radiation from the source and to generate image data based upon the received radiation, and a portable image processing system removably carried by the base station and configured to receive the image data from the detector and to process the image data to produce and display a user-viewable image derived from the image data.

A signal conditioning module is configured for insertion into the system and provides capability for expansion of information exchange capabilities between system elements responsive to modification of the system. Methods and apparatus for generating and archiving x-ray fluoroscopy images are provided. The method includes obtaining x-ray fluoroscopy data comprising a plurality of image frames and performing image enhancement, including motion correction, based on a subset of the acquired plurality of x-ray fluoroscopy image frames to generate a single enhanced x-ray image.

Methods and apparatus for generating and archiving x-ray fluoroscopy images

In one embodiment, a method for coordinating operation of X-ray detectors in a wireless X-ray system includes detecting multiple wireless X-ray detectors within an operative range of an X-ray base station, the detected X-ray detectors each having one of multiple possible statuses, including an active status corresponding to a designation of the X-ray detector as a desired recipient of radiation during a current X-ray imaging sequence, an inactive status corresponding to a designation of the X-ray detector as not the desired recipient of radiation during a current X-ray imaging sequence, and an unenabled status corresponding to the X-ray detector not being configured to operate with the X-ray base station. The method also includes determining the current status of each detected X-ray detector and displaying on a user-viewable screen a visual indication of the status of each detected X-ray detector.

Wireless X-ray detector operation coordination system and method

A method for imaging an object includes radiating the object of interest and sensing the radiation that penetrates through the object using a detector having at least one active area and at least one inactive area, determining when the radiation is completed using information received from the inactive area of the imaging detector, and reconstructing an image of the object using information received from the active area of the imaging detector. A medical imaging system and a computer-readable medium are also provided.

An x-ray grid alignment circuit for coupling an x-ray grid to a detector includes a marker configured to be mounted to the x-ray grid, a sensor configured to be mounted to the detector, the sensor generating an alignment signal based on a position of the marker, and an alignment module configured to receive the alignment signal from the sensor and utilize the alignment signal to determine if the x-ray grid is coupled to a detecting face of the detector. A detector assembly including the x-ray grid alignment circuit and a method of coupling an x-ray grid to a detector are also provided.

A method of testing a portable x-ray device includes sensing an environmental stimulus experienced by the portable x-ray device, transmitting a signal related to the environmental stimulus to a processing unit, determining whether the signal meets an alert threshold, activating a detector of the portable x-ray device if the signal meets the alert threshold, producing a gray image through the activating step, comparing the gray image produced through the activating step with a control gray image corresponding to a properly functioning detector.

Method of testing a medical imaging device

A detector for a portable imaging system includes a flash memory including a full set of configuration parameters and calibration files. The detector also includes a transmit and receive unit for communicating with the portable imaging system. The detector still further includes a detector controller responding to a request for identification of the detector received through the transmit and receive unit. The detector transmits calibration data and configuration data from the flash memory to the portable imaging system and boots the detector.

Portable digital detector system

Systems, methods and apparatus are provided through which the presence of a portable detector in a parking mechanism of mobile digital radiography system is used to change the operating mode of the portable detector and a mobile X-Ray system. An existing mobile digital X-Ray imaging system may be retrofitted with parking sensor mechanism for determining the proximity of the portable detector to the mobile digital radiography system. Also provided is a method for controlling a mobile digital imaging system having a mobile X-Ray base and having a parking mechanism for holding a detachable detector. A method for regulating a scan dosage includes generating an initial technique command based on default patient size or the previous exposure and on completion of exposure, receiving the actual technique signal. A target entrance dose signal is determined based a default patient size, and tube current is regulated in response to the target entrance dose signal and dose feedback. Image brightness is independently controlled in response to the target entrance dose and average image brightness. An object size is estimated based on the actual technique signal and an image brightness feedback. An optimized generator technique is defined based on estimated object size to achieve a target image quality for the user selected contrast material.
