In one embodiment, a method for matching sensors includes generating a first and second sensor signals respectively from first and second sensors, separating the sensor signals into magnitude and phase components, determining a phase difference from the phase components, and matching the magnitude of the first sensor signal to that of the second sensor signal by multiplying the magnitude of the first sensor signal by a magnitude correction value that is a function of a ratio of the phase components of the first and second sensor signals.

Signal matching method and device

In one embodiment, an antenna for receiving incident electromagnetic (EM) radiation includes a dipole having first and second elements, and a reflector for reflecting the incident EM radiation into reflected EM radiation. The reflector, first element, and second element are configured to orient the first element substantially broadside to the reflected EM radiation and end-fire to the incident EM radiation when the second element is oriented substantially broadside to the incident EM radiation. Conversely, they are configured to orient the second element substantially broadside to the reflected EM radiation and end-fire to the incident EM radiation when the first element is oriented substantially broadside to the incident EM radiation.

Wide-direction antenna

Noise discrimination in signals from a plurality of sensors is conducted by enhancing the phase difference in the signals such that off-axis pick-up is suppressed while on-axis pick-up is enhanced. Alternatively, attenuation/expansion are applied to the signals in a phase difference dependent manner, consistent with suppression of off-axis pick-up and on-axis enhancement. Nulls between sensitivity lobes are widened, effectively narrowing the sensitivity lobes and improving directionality and noise discrimination.

Method and apparatus for accommodating device and/or signal mismatch in a sensor array

Techniques are provided for vector noise cancellation. Different value combinations for a plurality of weighting factors may be established for a plurality of selection regions. Each value combination for the plurality of weighting factors may correspond to a different combination of a set of input signals. One or more characteristics of input signals may be used to select a particular selection region. A particular value combination of the set of weighting factors may be chosen to attenuate or amplify the input signals to generate one or more output signals.

Vector noise cancellation

A system and method for suppressing noise in one or more of at least first and second channels include obtaining a magnitude difference of signals in the first and second channels, obtaining a magnitude sum of signals in the first and second channels, obtaining a ratio of the magnitude difference to the magnitude sum, generating an attenuation value based on the ratio, selecting an attenuator based on the magnitude difference, and attenuating a signal in a channel by the attenuation value using the selected attenuator.

Multi-channel wind noise suppression system and method

In one embodiment, a method for matching first and second signals includes transforming, over a selected frequency band, the first and second signals into the frequency domain such that frequency components of the first and second signals are assigned to associated frequency bins, generating a scaling ratio associated with each frequency bin, and for at least one of the two signals, or at least a third signal derived from one of the two signals, scaling frequency components associated with each frequency bin by the scaling ratio associated with that frequency bin. The generating comprises determining, during a non-startup period, a signal ratio of the first and second signals for each frequency bin, determining the usability of each signal ratio, and designating a signal ratio as a scaling ratio if it is determined to be usable.

A method for processing an input signal to create an enhanced output signal includes obtaining an envelope of the input signal, determining a logarithm signal of the envelope, determining a rate of change of the logarithm signal to obtain a slope value, and applying a value derived from the slope value to the input signal to thereby generate an enhanced output signal.
