A golf club includes a face coupled to a body. A composite axis extends from a heel to a toe of the club and parallel to ground. The face is formed of a fiber composite material including at least first and second sets of ply arrangements. Each of the ply arrangements includes a pair of plies having first and second pluralities of fibers defining first and second angles with respect to the composite axis, respectively. The face has a ball contact surface, an rear surface, and a mid-zone positioned equidistant between the contact and rear surfaces. A majority of the first and second pluralities of fibers of the ply arrangements between the mid-zone and the contact surface are formed of glass fibers, and a majority of the first and second pluralities of ply arrangements between the mid-zone and the rear surface are formed of carbon fibers.

A golf club may include a head having a body and a faceplate coupled to the body. The faceplate may have a maximum thickness at a central location and a cross-section intersecting the central location. The cross-section may have continuously variable wall thickness across the faceplate. The faceplate may have a closed non-convex contour curve defined by constant faceplate wall thickness that encloses the central location.

An iron-type golf club head includes a body having a wall extending about an opening, a faceplate coupled to the body across the opening, first and second sets of apertures, and a fill material. The wall has an outer peripheral surface, a sole, a toe, a heel, a topline and a rear wall portion extending from the heel to the toe. The wall and the faceplate define a rearward-facing back cavity, and the sole, the rear wall portion and the faceplate define a lower cavity that is continuous with the back cavity. The first and second sets of apertures extend through the wall from the peripheral outer surface to, and are continuous with, the lower cavity. The first and second sets of apertures extend about first and second planes, respectively. The fill material substantially fills the lower cavity and the first and second sets of apertures.

An iron-type golf club head includes a body having a wall extending about an opening, a faceplate coupled to the body across the opening, a first set of apertures, and at least one second aperture. The wall has an outer peripheral surface, a sole, a toe and a topline. The wall and the faceplate define a rearward-facing cavity. The first set of apertures extends through the wall from the peripheral outer surface to the cavity. The first set of apertures extends about a first plane. The at least one second aperture extends through the wall from the peripheral outer surface to the cavity. The at least one second aperture extends about a second plane.

An iron-type golf club head includes a body having a wall extending about an opening, a faceplate, at least first and second apertures extending through the wall, and at least first and second plugs. The wall has and outer peripheral surface and a first hardness. The faceplate is coupled to the body across the opening. The wall and the faceplate defining a rearward-facing cavity. The first and second apertures extend through the wall from the peripheral outer surface to the cavity. The at least first and second plugs are positioned within the at least first and second apertures, respectively, and the first and second plugs have second and third hardnesses, respectively. Each of the second and third hardnesses is less than the first hardness.

A shaft for a golf club having a total length and a total weight. The shaft includes first and second tubular portions. The first and second tubular portions are formed of first and second materials, respectively. The second tubular portion has a proximal end and a tip end. The tip end has an outside diameter of less than 0.400 inches. The distal end of the first tubular portion is co-cured to the proximal end of the second tubular portion. The shaft has a resistance to twisting about a longitudinal axis of the shaft, when tested under a torsional stability test and measured at an approximate midpoint of the total length of the shaft, of less than 2.0 degrees in a torsional stability test. The shaft when measured from the tip end of the shaft in a balance point test device has a balance point of less than 46 percent.

A putter head including a fore body and an aft body. The fore body includes a planar front strike face, heel and toe side walls, a rear wall, a top surface and a generally planar sole. The top surface includes a sight line. The sight line extends along a first plane that is perpendicular to the strike face and to the sole, and is substantially evenly spaced from the heel and toe side walls. The aft body is coupled to the fore body and includes a rear main portion and an overhang. The rear main portion is engaged to the rear wall of the fore body, and has a central region positioned between first and second end regions. The overhang forwardly extends from the central region. The overhang includes an elongate slot extending along the first plane, and is positioned over at least a portion of the sight line.
