An adapter, for use with items such as cameras and camera accessories, the adapter having a lower portion and an upper portion, the lower portion configured to receive and engage with a clamp stud of an item to be connected to the adapter, the upper portion including a platform assembly configured to attach to another item above the adapter, wherein the lower portion includes a stud catch mechanism, and wherein the stud catch mechanism is adapted to be connected to the clamp stud when the stud catch mechanism is in an engaged state and to be not connected to the clamp stud when the stud catch mechanism is in a disengaged state, the stud catch mechanism having one or more stud catch plates adapted to be moveable into and away from the recess of the clamp stud in use.

Tripod leg

A tripod () for mounting a camera or the like is disclosed. The tripod () comprises a support () having three legs () which are moveably mounted at a proximal end about the support () and circumferentially equidistant from each other. The legs () are moveable between an expanded configuration to support the tripod () and a folded configuration when the legs () lie adjacent to each other. In order to retain the legs in the folded configuration, at least one leg () includes a magnet () spaced distally along the leg () from the support. Each of the other two legs () includes a further magnet () or a magnetically attracted portion to magnetically engage the magnet () and releasably retain the tripod () in the folded configuration.

A pan and tilt head for supporting a payload such as a TV, video or motion picture camera comprising a base and a tiltable support including a platform for receiving a payload pivotally mounted on the base to tilt about a horizontal axis to either side of a neutral position in which the platform is generally horizontal. A balancing mechanism for the platform includes an adjustable spring mechanism mounted on the base to enable a pre-load in the spring mechanism to be varied and means coupling the tilting support to the spring mechanism. Adjustable mounting for one end of the spring mechanism includes an upright post mounted on the base and having rotary height adjustment. A manually operable rotary thumb wheel is mounted on the base for rotation about an upright axis.

Pan and tilt heads

A spreader device and a modular stand system including the spreader device are disclosed. The spreader device is configured to detachably couple with and support a stand unit, and to function independently as a stand when detached from the stand unit. Each arm of the spreader device may detachably and rotatably couple with a leg of the stand unit. The modular stand system may also include a monopod where both the spreader device and the stand unit are configured to engage the monopod. The functionality an configurability of each component in the modular stand system may permit increased system flexibility using a small number of components.

The present invention provides a valve for use in a lubrication oil circulation system associated with the compressor of a refrigeration system, which valve has internal operating components which can be removed through a sealable access opening in the wall of the body of the valve, thus allowing the operating components of the valve to be inserted into and removed from the valve body through the access opening. This permits the valve body to be connected to the pipework of the circulation system by welded joints in place of the but joints used hitherto. The invention also provides a lubrication oil circulation system incorporating a valve mechanism of the invention.
