A multiplate friction clutch can transmit power by pressing a stack of friction plates, which comprises plural separator plates and plural friction plates arranged alternately side by side, with a piston movable within a clutch casing. The multiplate friction clutch includes an annular holding groove formed in a pressing wall of the piston, a cushioning wave spring received in the holding groove, and an annular protuberance formed on an outer circumferential edge of an opening of the holding groove. The cushioning wave spring can be brought into resilient contact with one of the friction plates, which one friction plate is located adjacent to the piston. The annular protuberance prevents the wave spring from falling off the holding groove.

Multiplate friction clutch

The present invention provides a wet multi-plate clutch comprising a clutch case and hub disposed on a same axis, a first friction engagement element disposed in the clutch case, a second friction engagement element disposed on the hub, and a piston for applying an axial load to the first and second friction engagement elements, and wherein a recessed groove is formed in a surface of the piston opposing to the first and second friction engagement elements, and a wave spring is disposed within the recessed groove, and only a portion of the opposed surface at an outer diameter side or an inner diameter side of the recessed groove urges the respective friction engagement elements.

Wet multi-plate clutch

In a V-pulley control mechanism for a variable-speed drive of belt type in which driving of a V-pulley of the variable-speed drive of belt type is controlled by a motor, the V-pulley control mechanism is disposed between the motor and the V-pulley and comprises a clutch tightening portion, a clutch mechanism which can be tightened by the clutch tightening portion, and a one-way clutch portion.

A multi-bent drag strip is provided for use in a one-way clutch having an outer and inner rings, a ring-shaped outer and inner retainers arranged between inner and outer circumferential surfaces of said outer and inner rings, and plural sprags held in place by said outer and inner retainers to permit selective transmission of a torque between said outer and inner rings. The drag strip has a strip portion to be disposed in contact at a part thereof with said outer circumferential surface of said inner ring and bent end portions located on opposite sides of said strip portion and to be disposed in contact with an inner circumferential surface of said inner retainer. Between an area of contact between said strip portion and said outer circumferential surface of said inner ring and each of said bent end portions, said strip portion has at least one bent portion to be disposed out of contact with said outer circumferential surface of said inner ring and said inner circumferential surface of said inner retainer.
