Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform a method using a status change of a timer associated with a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) communication session with a base station to trigger a switch from using a first bandwidth part (BWP) to a second BWP as the active BWP for the CDRX communication session. The timer may be an on-duration timer, an inactivity timer, or a retransmission timer. The UE may also alter a monitoring schedule of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in response to detecting the status change of the timer. The second BWP may have a wider or narrower bandwidth than the first BWP, depending on the type of timer and the type of status change.

A device, system and method for a user equipment (UE) to report a network resource and capability state to a network for coordinating network resource allocations. The UE is configured to establish a first connection to a first network based on a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of the UE and further configured to establish a second connection to a second network based on a second SIM of the UE. The method includes determining an upcoming first change of a state of the UE with respect to the first connection and transmitting, to the first network, an indication of the first change of state of the UE. The method further includes changing the state of the UE with respect to the first connection.

Reporting framework for dynamic UE capabilities

A user equipment (UE) device may reside in a state of dual connectivity with a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), wherein the radio access technologies of the MCG and the SCG are different. While in the dual connectivity state, the UE device may transition to a mode of reduced activity (e.g., processing and/or RF activity) relative to the secondary cell group (SCG) in order to save power, e.g., when traffic flow via the SCG is below a threshold, or when scheduling activity on the SCG is low. Various mechanisms may be employed to reduce activity, e.g., mechanisms such as reduction of beam monitoring, deactivation of secondary cells of the SCG, reduction of number of active antenna elements, employment of longer periods for periodic measurement and reporting processes, etc.

A wireless communication device (UE) may provide information pertaining to one or more operating capabilities of the UE to LTE and 5G-NR networks. The UE may transmit information to an LTE base station directly, and to a 5G-NR base station directly, or indirectly via the LTE base station. The information may include preferred values corresponding to any number of different operating parameters associated with wireless communications or wireless communication capabilities of the UE in both LTE and 5G-NR networks, informing and/or requesting the LTE and 5G-NR networks to make provisions based on the transmitted information for the wireless communications of the UE on those networks. When the UE is in C-DRX mode, the UE may be configured such that either the sleep/wake period of the C-DRX mode or the blanking period of the bDCI may take precedence over the other.

For example, a wireless communication device comprising two cellular radios may intend to transmit on the first radio, while concurrently transmitting on the second radio. To ensure compliance with a maximum transmit power limitation, the device may determine an allowed transmit power level of the first radio, representing a difference between the maximum transmit power limitation and the current transmit power level being transmitted by the second radio. The device may also determine a threshold power level for a communication by the first radio. If the allowed transmit power level meets the threshold power level, then the device may transmit the first communication having a power level between the threshold power level and the allowed transmit power level. Otherwise, the device may forego transmission of the first communication.
