Computer technology for performing a download of a set of file(s) by multiple computer devices. Different computer devices respectively download different parts of the set of files and respectively encapsulate them with file wrappers to create multiple 'sealed off portions.' Each sealed off portion indicates what portion of the code of the set of file(s) is in that sealed off portion. The multiple sealed off portions are transferred (for example, over a local area network) to another computer device, which may, or may not, be one of the multiple computers that created one of the sealed off portions, and this computer device assembles the sealed off portions to re-create the set of file(s).

Computer technology for device forwarding downloads

A computer-implemented process, computer program product, and system for dynamic change of a password under a brute force attack. A computer processor determines a quantity of consecutive unsuccessful attempts to access the targeted item protected by a password. Responsive to the quantity of consecutive unsuccessful attempts to access the targeted item exceeding a predefined threshold, the computer processor acquires a new password for access to the targeted item, wherein the new password is based on a more complex set of password generation rules than a current password. The computer processor changing the current password of the targeted item to the new password, and in response to changing the current password of the targeted item to the new password, the computer processor sends an encrypted message regarding the new password to a user associated with the targeted item.

Dynamic protection from detected brute force attack

A method, computer program product, and a system where a processor(s) determines that a destination has been retained as a link in an application. The processor(s) monitors connections of the application to the destination retained as the link, where connecting is providing a locator of the destination to a server(s) to obtain an address for the destination. The processor(s) determines an average time period measured from providing the locator to the server(s) to obtaining the address. The processor(s) retains the returned address for each connection within a given time period. The processor(s) determines that the application has initiated a new connection to the destination and the new connection is incomplete after a time period calculated relative to the average time period has lapsed. The processor(s) provides selectable options in a user interface of the application that are the retained address(es).

Denial of service attack mitigation through direct address connection

In an approach to validating proposed recipients based on message contents, a number of keywords in a message under construction that are not in a keyword database for each addressee in the message under construction are counted. Responsive to determining that the number of keywords that are not in the keyword database for each addressee in the message under construction is above a threshold, notifying the user of a possible incorrect addressee.

A computer-implemented method includes: receiving, by a computer device, input to tag at least one line of code with one of plural predefined types of metadata tags, wherein the at least one line of code is a subset of a source code that is stored in a code repository and editable by plural different users via a client source code editor program; tagging, by the computer device, the at least one line of code with the one of the plural predefined types of metadata tags; detecting, by the computer device, a change to the at least one line of code after the tagging; and generating, by the computer device, an alert based on the detecting the change to the at least one line of code.

Enabling/disabling applications using face authentication

A method, computer program product, and system for dynamic change of a password under a brute force attack. A computer processor monitors a password protected account. A frequency of access attempts to the account is determined and in response to the frequency of access attempts exceeding a first threshold, a brute force password attack against the account is determined. A quantity of consecutive unsuccessful access attempts is tracked and responsive to the unsuccessful access attempts exceeding a second predefined threshold, a new password of the account is acquired, in which the new password follows a more complex set of password generation rules than the current password. An encrypted message regarding the new password is sent to a user of the account, the password of the account is reset to the new password, and the quantity of consecutive unsuccessful attempts to access the account is reset to zero.

Dynamic protection from detected to brute force attack

Virtual machine volumes may be migrated between software defined storage (SDS) systems by an orchestration engine configured to manage one or more virtual machines. The orchestration engine may identify one or more volumes associated with the one or more virtual machines and resident in a first SDS system to migrate to a second SDS system, and for each identified volume among the one or more identified volumes, the orchestration engine may create a replacement volume for the identified volume on the second SDS system, map the replacement volume to the associated virtual machine for the identified volume, cause the associated virtual machine to discover the replacement volume, mirror data from the identified volume to the replacement volume, unmap the identified volume from the associated virtual machine, and delete the identified volume from the first SDS system.

Virtual machine migration between software defined storage systems

A method for sequencing virtual machines in a shared pool of configurable network computing resources includes sequencing at least one computing element for two or more virtual machines into a respective two or more profiles, stored in a security database. Each virtual machine corresponds to a respective profile. The method also includes comparing a profile of a virtual machine corresponding to a security incident in the shared pool of configurable network computing resources with respective profiles of other virtual machines to identify similar profiles and group profiles into first and second groups. The method also includes comparing profiles of the groups of virtual machines and determining an alteration plan based on the comparison of profiles of the groups. The alternation plan includes a plan to modify one or more computing elements for virtual machines in the first group of virtual machines to reduce likelihood of susceptibility to the security incident.

Sequencing virtual machines

A first user request may be received within a main forum portal that identifies a plurality of resources. The plurality of resources may correspond to one or more user questions about the plurality of resources. At least a first subordinate forum portal of the main forum portal may be identified that is associated with at least one of the plurality of resources. A first option may be provided, based on at least the identifying, the first option for use in joining the first subordinate forum portal.

A sender selection is detected at a sender computer system within a user interface of at least one suggested folder name for a composed electronic message for a recipient receiving the electronic message to select as a folder name for filing the electronic message. The at least one suggested folder name is attached to the electronic message at the sender computer system for distribution to the recipient. The electronic message is sent with the suggested filing folder name from the sender computer system to a recipient, wherein a recipient receiving the electronic message receives the at least one suggested folder name specified by the sender in the electronic message for selecting a folder for filing the electronic message in a messaging filing directory for the recipient.

Automated electronic message filing system

A system for transferring digital rights managed (DRM) files from a first seller device to a buyer device involves a buyer device configured to receive a file package having the DRM file. Some file packages may also have a DRM file access key. The system also has a first seller device having the DRM file stored thereon and configured to receive a request to purchase the DRM file (the request having a DRM file identifier); receive a buyer identifier associated with the request; transfer the file package to a buyer device to the buyer device; detect through a network connection, a digital rights management server; and send, responsive to detecting the digital rights management server, a sale record to the digital rights management server, where the sale record includes the DRM file identifier and the buyer identifier.

Distributed digital rights-managed file transfer and access control

A method and apparatus are provided for implementing preemptive customized Codeset Converter Selection (CCS) on Software as a Service (SaaS) in a computer system. A codeset converter is automatically selected for operational modes, customer requests and service tasks which prompt the launching of the SaaS application. The CC selection is based upon history logs, content, and learned behavior performed as the application is launched and referenced without the user having to restart the session. Launching a new session is not needed for the enablement of the CC function.
