Methods and apparatus to facilitate secured printing in a network environment. Imaging devices on the network are adapted to look for a security key associated with each print job or incoming data stream. If no security key is identified, an imaging device denies the print request, i.e., it accepts the print job and removes it from the print queue, but generates no tangible output. If a security key is identified, a request is sent to another device on the network containing a database of valid security keys in order to validate the identified key. If the other device validates the key, the imaging device generates the tangible output. Otherwise, it denies the print request.

Secured printing

Imaging devices can have mass storage devices associated with them. In a networked environment that allows mounting of a shared resource, these mass storage devices can be viewed or even altered by anyone who can connect to the imaging device. However, unrestricted access may be undesirable. The various embodiments provide methods and apparatus for securing these mass storage devices. Security is variable among different sets of users or external devices attempting access of the mass storage device.

Security for mass storage devices in imaging devices

An apparatus for generating a data processing pathway in a hardware-ready format is provided which includes a computer-based client and an output device. The client has processing circuitry, memory, a raster formatter, and a software-based data compression apparatus configured to render a rasterized, bitmapped image into image data in a hardware-ready format. The output device communicates with the client and has hardware-ready program code and a hardware-assisted print device. The hardware-assisted print device includes a printer controller, with the printer controller including processing circuitry, memory, and a data decompressor. The hardware-ready program code is operative via the printer controller to receive the hardware-ready image data from the client and render output containing the image to the hardware-assisted print device. A method is also provided.

Printer pipeline bypass in hardware-ready format

System, including method and apparatus, for controlling printing device outputs by selectively fulfilling or denying corresponding output requests based on the class of each output request. The class may be determined by the type of each request and/or the specific input port through which each request is received.

Control of outputs from a printing device

A wide windrow raking apparatus which may be retroactively fitted to a hay baler as an after market product or which may be fitted to a hay baler by the manufacturer is disclosed. The apparatus employs an extension frame between the hay baler and its towing tractor to which commercially available wide windrow power rakes may be attached. The apparatus includes activation and control assemblies, powered by the tractor, required to operate and store the attached power rakes. The apparatus allows the user to rake and bale hay in a one pass operation. The apparatus further provides a mechanical 'power take off' extension shaft between the hay baler and its tractor. The apparatus allows the power rakes to be independent of the tractor which means that the tractor may be used for other tasks immediately after disconnecting from the baler/extension frame.
