A method of operating a first wireless communication device includes transmitting a first message toward one or more wireless devices including a second wireless device, the first message indicating a need of the first wireless communication device to use shared network resources, receiving an indication from the second wireless device that it has available resources, utilizing the available resources of the second wireless device, transmitting a second message toward the one or more wireless devices, the second message comprising an entry for inclusion in a distributed transaction ledger of utilized resources that is shared among the one or more wireless devices, the entry indicating utilization of the available resources of the second wireless device by the first wireless communication device, and storing the entry in a local copy of the distributed transaction ledger.

Resource sharing for cooperative communications

According to certain embodiments, a method by a wireless device is provided for mapping of application data packets onto bearers. The method includes associating at least one tag value with a bearer upon establishment of the bearer. A tag is attached to a packet when passing the packet to a lower layer. The packet is mapped onto the bearer, and a path to transmit the packet is selected.

The method comprises generating a tag for an associated data packet at a first layer, the generated tag indicating one or more parameters related to transmission of the associated data packet. According to certain embodiments, a method for floor control comprises, prior to transmitting a first message to one or more wireless devices, determining, at a first wireless device, a priority of the first message. The method also comprises determining, at the first wireless device, whether a floor is available for transmitting the first message based on the determined priority of the first message. The method additionally includes, upon the floor being available, transmitting the first message from the first wireless device to the one or more wireless devices. The method additionally includes transmitting the first message from the first wireless device without the first wireless device first requesting the floor from a remote floor controller.

System, method, and apparatus for floor control during push to talk

The method comprises determining one or more non-reserved group IDs associated with a first wireless device. The method additionally includes participating in a communication session based on a first group ID of the one or more non-reserved group IDs associated with the first wireless device. The second group ID is not among the one or more non-reserved group IDs associated to with the first wireless device. The method also comprises determining the second group ID is a reserved group ID.
