An inline cartridge filter for treating coolant liquid used to cool industrial application such as cooling towers and chillers, combustion engine includes an annular filter media disposed around a cylindrical biological control element which includes a biocide for controlling the growth of bacteria and a pH control agent for controlling the growth of algae in the coolant liquid. The filter media and biological control element form a disposable filter element which is mounted in a housing.

Inline cartridge filter

A low restriction air filter is especially useful for racing engines and includes a filter media of spun-bonded synthetic material, such as polyester co-pleated with a metal screen on the dirty side of the filter. An expanded metal aluminum screen surrounds the clean side of the filter media and annular end seals made of plastisol seal the axial ends of the filter media. The filter element has an inside diameter of about 14 inches, a height of about 4 inches and a filter media thickness in the radial direction of about 1 inch.

Low restriction, high performance air filter

An interlocking dual filter includes a first filter element having a filter media enclosed by a frame and a sealing gasket disposed around the frame. The frame of the first filter element has a depending flange which defines a space for receiving a second filter element having a different filter media. The flange includes a plurality of recesses which form a first latching arrangement. The first recesses are aligned with latching tabs which extend laterally from the frame of the second filter element so that when the second filter element is placed within the frame, the second filter element latches with the first filter element. In accordance with one embodiment, the filter media of the first and second filter elements are different so that the filter assembly may be customized to accommodate various air stream conditions and utilizations.
