An example method involves (i) accessing a playlist defining a sequence of media content items including a first media content item and a second media content item; (ii) retrieving, from one or more server devices, first data representing the media content items of the received playlist, and using the retrieved first data to play out, via a client device, the media content items in accordance with the sequence defined by the playlist; (iii) accessing second data representing user activity related to the client device, and using the accessed second data as a basis to select a media content item from a plurality of media content items; and (iv) retrieving third data representing the selected media content item, and using the retrieved third data to play out, via the client device, the selected media content item in between playing out the first and second media content items.

Retrieval and playout of media content

Disclosed are methods and systems for dynamically playing audible punctuation in connection with playout of content defined by a playlist. A client receives a playlist defining a sequence of media content items to be played out by the client, the playlist indicating attribute data for each media content item of the sequence. For each of at least one of the media content items of the playlist, the client determines based on the attribute data and perhaps based on user preference data an audible punctuation to play out in connection with playout of that media content item, and the client retrieves and plays out the audible punctuation in connection with playout of that media content item.

Disclosed herein is an adjustable induction lamp adapter that is also extendable. The adjustable induction lamp adapter attaches to an induction lamp by clamping onto an induction lamp bar. The clamping is achieved through the use of a removable end cap at the base of the adjustable induction lamp adapter, wherein the end cap has a cutout and screw to hold the induction lamp bar in place. The adjustable induction lamp adapter is designed to also be able to extend in length by attaching one or more extension adapters.

An internal induction lamp with a glass envelope bulb assembly and an inductor shaft assembly. The glass envelope bulb assembly is a hollow glass envelope bulb with a mercury amalgam stem protruding downwards from the bottom of the hollow glass envelope bulb. The mercury amalgam stem is fragile, and protected by a stem protector. The inductor shaft assembly, which inserts into the glass envelope bulb assembly accommodates the protrusion of the mercury amalgam stem along with the stem protector. The inductor shaft assembly and envelope bulb assembly may attach via a threaded ring connector. The inductor shaft assembly may have a heat sink, and a gap within the heat sink to accommodate placement of the stem protector within this gap.

A fluorescent lamp has an amalgam chamber that is in communication with the interior of the lamp through an exhaust tube. The amalgam chamber is constructed as a three-way junction with the exhaust tube and is formed at a supplementary angle of 180 degree or less with respect to the exhaust tube. The construction of the chamber utilizes the force of gravity to keep the amalgam away from the opening of the exhaust tube leading to the interior of the lamp. The amalgam chamber is capable of effectively retaining the amalgam within the chamber and preventing it from penetrating into the interior of the lamp regardless of mounting direction.

Multi-level light fixture retrofit kit

The present invention discloses an improved compact induction lamp, which includes a lamp bulb coated with a phosphor layer on its inner wall and contains inert gas and mercury vapor. The lamp bulb is connected to a housing and mounted to a lamp base. The housing may include a control circuit. A magnetic ring located within a ring cover surrounded the lamp bulb and enclosed one cross section of the lamp bulb. A wire coil wrapped around the magnetic ring is connected with the control circuit and to the lamp base, which generates an electromagnetic field to lighten the lamp. A double wall exhaust tube containing mercury amalgam is disposed of in the housing at the lamp base to provide mercury vapor to the inner space of the lamp bulb. The double wall exhaust tube provides a mean to prevent the amalgam from penetrating into the lamp bulb and allows the lamp to be mounted in any direction the lamp may be operated.

Systems and methods which facilitate extension of software applications, without changing the software application binary code, through use of a data channel architecture are shown. According to embodiments, a robust bi-directional data channel is implemented within the software application allowing interaction with external code to provide extension of the software application to include one or more new and/or modified feature. Embodiments adapt a software application for loading of a trigger and an extension library for interfacing a feature module with the software application. The trigger may comprise a small piece of code, such as in a scripting language, adapted to be embedded in the software application at runtime which directs processing to a corresponding extension library. The extension library may comprise a command set, such as a scripting language dynamic link library or bundle, used for implementing a robust bidirectional protocol between the software application and external code.

A lampshade adapted to be interconvertible between an assembled configuration having a first volume and a knockdown configuration having a second, smaller volume comprises lampshade segments connected to rotational elements. Slotting means on preselected rotational elements position the connecting members to assume predetermined positions with respect to the common axis, where the rotational elements are locked in place. Methods for use of the lampshade in knockdown shipping, and kits containing the lampshade and instructional materials are also taught.
