A hybrid security access device is described herein that combines Radio Frequency Identification RFID technology with a new Touch Access technology that utilizes the body for near field emitter communications. Combining these technologies results in security access tags that can remain in or about a person such as in a wallet, briefcase, purse, etc. and be activated by just touching a touch access equipped RFID reader. The need to extract and hand present an access tag close to a reader as required by RFID technology is eliminated. Efficiency, security compliance, card loss due to handling and convenience is the result of the combination of these two technologies and is the basis of this patent application.

Touch capable RFID invention

A near field detection device that detects a field near the body when appropriately connected to conductive plates. The near field is generated by an oscillatory voltage device which when in contact with the body permeates all that is in contact with the body. The detector electronics and conductive plates are packaged so that near contact with the body is accommodated. A footwear packaging scheme provides a convenient location to embed the detector invention, though other packaging arrangements and locations on the body are claimed. Auxiliary electronics may be included with the detector and conductive plates to provide additional synergistic functionality to the packaging scheme.

An electronic tongue strike mechanism which can be mounted in a door frame is disclosed. The electronic tongue strike mechanism has a main mounting bracket which is mountable to a door frame, a tension plate which is mounted to the main mounting bracket a tongue strike mounted on the tension plate for engaging a door bolt and a pressure sensor mounted on the tension plate to sense relative movement between the tension plate and the main mounting bracket caused by the door bolt being urged against the tongue strike. The pressure sensor feeds electronics which operate to control release of the tongue strike.

Electronic tongue strike mechanism

A harness apparatus for mounting a device on the outside of the tail of an animal, comprising a girth belt constructed to surround the body of the animal near the front legs thereof, the girth belt having a rearwardly extending belt portion positioned to be located near the spinal portion of the animal. A tail harness comprising a first flexible and resilient cord is connected at its forward end to the rear end of the girth belt portion. A second flexible and resilient cord having a first loop at its front end is connected to the rear end of the first cord, the second cord having two cord portions that extend rearwardly from the first loop and are constructed to extend around and under the tail of the animal. An adjustment device is mounted on the second cord portions near the rear end of the first loop to maintain them in closely adjacent relation. The adjustment device is slidable along the second cord portions and is positioned to be located in front of the tail of the animal. The second cord portions diverge rearwardly from the adjustment device to form a second loop positioned to surround the tail of the animal. A connecting device maintains the second cord portions in closely adjacent relation at the rear end of the second loop, and is positioned to be located under the tail of the animal. The second cord portions diverge rearwardly from the second loop and terminate in end portions adapted to be adjustably connected to the device to be mounted on the outside of the tail of the animal.

An effect analogous to a tail-pinch effect is evoked in humans by apparatus for applying variable localized pressure to the spine. Control of the pressure can be accomplished manually, by remote control and/or automatically. By selectively applying pressure a number of changes can be evoked in the human including, for example, causing an increase in appetite, a change in sexual behavior, increased blood flow to brain, and/or an increase of neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. The effect is useful in treating Parkinson's disease, depressive disorders, stroke and other conditions.

Human applications of controlled stress

A communications system permits animal carried transponders, such as ear tag transponders, to be selectively addressed and detected when an animal is proximate to an unterminated wire. Addresses impressed on a frequency carrier on the unterminated wire are coupled to an animal's transponder using a near field coupling, such as an electrical field coupling. When an animal's address is detected, the animal's transponder responds with a data stream carrying a tone or with a signal of different frequency coupled to the unterminated wire. Coupling is enhanced by connecting signals to be transmitted and a receiver for signals to be received to the animal's body. The unterminated wire can be positioned along a feeding/water trough in an agricultural environment to detect when a particular animal feeds or around a gate to detect when an animal passes through the gate.

A rotary piston engine is disclosed of a novel, geometric construction whereby substantially pressure dependent operation is ensured along with continuous torque characteristics. In the preferred inventive embodiment, an elongated rotatable shaft having a disc plate intermediate thereof is provided with a pair of rotor assemblies disposed to either side of the disc plate and attached for rotation as a unit, each rotor assembly including an inner and an outer concentrically arranged ring of different diameters with a radially extending piston vane disposed therebetween in linking relationship therewith. A slotted intermediate ring is placed between the inner and outer rings of each respective rotor assembly, the intermediate ring being journalled off-center of its respective rotor assembly such that the intermediate ring effects a rolling contact seal with both the inner and outer rings of the rotor assembly during rotation thereof. The arrangement is such that a plurality of crescent-shaped sealed chambers of varying volume are formed between the intermediate and outer rings, and between the intermediate and inner rings of each rotor assembly as the shaft rotates, with the radial vane of each rotor assembly dividing the respective chambers into sectors. A fluid inlet means communicates with such sectors disposed to one side of each radial vane and a fluid outlet means communicates with the chamber sectors disposed to the other side of each radial vane. The device can be operated as both a motor and as a pump.
