Devices and methods of a pod that deploys from an aircraft or vehicle and descends to safely land. The pod is configured to be attached to an aircraft or vehicle. The pod includes walls that extend around and form a contained interior space that houses one or more travelers or cargo containers. During flight of the aircraft or vehicle, the pod deploys from the aircraft or vehicle while at an elevation above ground. A landing location is determined for the pod. While the pod is descending, the pod is steered towards and lands at the landing location.

Transportation pod that deploys from an aircraft or vehicle

A system and method to transport one or more persons or objects. The system includes pods that each have an interior space to house the one or more persons or objects, and vehicles that are each configured to individually connect to one or more of the pods and to transport the pods from a first location to a second location. A server is located remotely from the pods and the vehicles. The server is configured to receive data from the pods and the vehicles through a wireless communication network to monitor a usage and location of the pods.

System for pod-based transportation

A transportation system that includes one or more pods that include an interior space configured to house one or more travelers. The pods can be attached to and transported by multiple different vehicles. The different vehicles can provide for different modes of transportation. The method further includes identifying the object as a component part that is the first of the component parts or the second of the component parts and accessing a data record with information about the component part.

Methods and devices for searching for a missing person. Data sources are accessed through an IP network to obtain information about the missing person. Based on the obtained information, potential scenarios are develop of the current location of the missing person. The information is disseminated to search entities that search the geographic areas of the potential scenarios. Additional information is obtained about the missing person during the search to further develop the potential scenarios and focus the search areas.

Systems for collision avoidance for a vehicle. One or more inputs are used to determine an impending collision. Once determined, corrective actions are taken to reduce the severity of the collision. The corrective actions can avoid the collision and/or reduce the damage caused by the collision. The systems and methods can also be performed at a system level that controls one or more vehicles and/or objects.

A computer-implemented method includes searching, by machine learning logic of a computer, a flight schedule database for one or more flight schedule records related to flight preference information specified by a user. The machine learning logic is trained with training data that includes flight schedules selected by passengers and flight preference information associated with the passengers. The method further includes responsive to locating the one or more flight schedule records, communicating, by the computer, flight schedules associated with the one or more flight schedule records to a terminal associated with the user. The method includes receiving, from the terminal, a booking indication associated with a particular flight schedule of the flight schedules and updating the training data to associate the particular flight schedule with the flight preference information specified by the user.

Method and system for flight scheduling

A modular transportation system to transport one or more persons and/or objects. The system may include a pod with wall segments that mount together to form an interior space to house the one or more persons and/or objects. The wall segments are modular and configured to connect together in a variety of different configurations to selectively configure the interior space. Vehicles are each configured to individually connect to the pod and to transport the pod from a first location to a second location. At least one of the vehicles is configured to transport the pod by land and at least one of the vehicles is configured to transport the pod by air.

Reconfigurable pods for use with one or more vehicles

A computer implemented method for monitoring personnel activity in a work environment includes receiving motion sensor data generated by a motion sensing device that is carried on or by a worker, determining a location of the motion sensing device, detecting a lack of expected movement of the motion sensing device, and generating an alert based on the location of the motion sensing device and the detected lack of expected movement of the motion sensing device. Computer-implemented methods and system for monitoring personnel activity using non-motion sensors

An example method of performing maintenance on an aircraft includes receiving a vehicle data-signature-map of an interior of an aircraft for at least one parameter of the aircraft, and the vehicle data-signature-map is based on sensor outputs received from sensors of mobile devices positioned at locations in the interior of the aircraft. The method also includes comparing the vehicle data-signature-map with a previous vehicle data-signature-map, based on differences of the vehicle data-signature-map as compared to the previous vehicle data-signature-map making a determination for maintenance, and generating and outputting a recommendation for inspection of an identified portion of the aircraft based on the distribution of the at least one parameter in the vehicle data-signature-map for the identified portion of the aircraft being substantially different than the distribution of the at least one parameter in the vehicle data-signature-map for other portions of the aircraft to assist with the maintenance of the aircraft.

A manufacturing materiel management system. The system comprises a manufacturing assembly line to manufacture an object comprising a plurality of parts. The system also comprises a computer to monitor an input device for input that indicates a disruption event defined as an event in which manufacture of the object is disrupted as a result of loss of a resource or the part, or a shortage of human resources. Responsive to receiving the input, the computer system calculates another project which may continue, calculates remaining resources which may be allocated to the other projects, and generate a resource re-allocation plan which defines how remaining resources are to be re-allocated to the other project. A communication system in communication with the computer is configured to communicate the re-allocation plan to a manager of the manufacturing assembly line.

An example real-time ad hoc network sensor system includes a plurality of sensors positioned at fixed locations on an aircraft, a plurality of mobile devices in an interior of the aircraft, and a computing device having one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions, that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to perform functions including receiving outputs from the plurality of sensors and from the sensors of the plurality of mobile devices during the flight of the aircraft, mapping the outputs to a computer model of the aircraft for association with locations in the interior of the aircraft, and based on the mapping, creating a vehicle data-signature-map of the interior of the aircraft for at least one parameter of the aircraft.

Pod-centric transportation model system

Aspects of the present disclosure reduce the possibility of a collision between multiple aircraft, and provide early detection and warning capabilities to pilots and ground personnel of a potentially dangerous situation. To accomplish this function, nested 3D volumes of protected space are generated as geometric solids for each of a plurality of aircraft and monitored. Upon detecting that the volumes of protected space associated with multiple aircraft intersect each other, alarm notifications are generated to warn appropriate personnel that the aircraft could come within an unsafe distance of each other.
