A hand-operated device that can be actuated to dispense a predetermined volume of liquid food product (LFP) for use in food preparation and food consumption is provided. The device includes an actuator, an opening, a reservoir for storing the food product, and a liquid metering device for controlling a volume of LFP dispensed at the opening. The device may include a heater that functions to heat and/or liquefy the food product. The device may also include a volume adjuster that allows a user to vary the predetermined volume of LFP dispensed with each actuation of the device.

An elongated, tubular bird feeder comprising one or more pairs of interlocking feeder ports, where the feeder ports are of identical constructions, such that each feeder port mates with an identical feeder port. Each port defines an external perch and an external shield that is curved to fit the contour of the tube, a neck which fits tightly into an opening in the tube, and a reduced diameter portion that defines an end face, from which projects two interlocking features: a horizontally-oriented blade member; and a vertically-oriented generally sector-shaped member. When two ports are pushed together into diametrically-opposed side openings in the tube, with end faces located proximate one another, the two sector members will be located adjacent one another to define an essentially semi-circular upper region, and the two blades will be located next to one another to define an essentially horizontal blade member.

A removable seed deflector for a bird feeder is disclosed that can be installed into the bottom open bottom end and a side wall of the bird feeder. A base member interfittingly engages the bottom end of the tubular body member. The base member includes at least one aperture defining at least one seat, respectively. The base member is releasably secured to the tubular body member of a feeder. A seed deflector is releasably secured to the base member and includes at least one downwardly depending leg that releasably engages with the seats, respectively, in the base member.

A hair waving apparatus having at least two elements with undulations on each element for producing a wave in a lock of human hair is disclosed. The elements are pivotally connected and are biased toward each other and the elements are maintained in engagement with each other by a biasing means in the form of a spring to hold the lock of hair therebetween to impart a wave thereon. The undulations are dimensioned to allow each of the elements to nest within each other. A plurality of vents are disposed thereon the undulations to allow moisture to escape from the hair during hair styling and to hasten the hair drying process and subsequent wave formation in the hair. Additional features of the instant invention include retaining means in the form of a stop are disposed on each of the elements for maintaining each of the elements in engagement with each other and the stop cooperatively interacting with the spring to hold the lock of hair therebetween to impart a wave thereon; and a tab is disposed thereon each of the elements for disengaging the elements from each other when the elements are biased away from each other and the hair waving apparatus is in an open position. Guide means, such as a pin, disposed on each of the elements in alignment with a hole therein the elements and the pin cooperatively interacting with the hole and with the spring for positioning the undulations of the elements in close proximity to each other.
