A geodesic system for measuring the position of a target when the target is obstructed from view by a station. The geodesic system includes a rod fastener positioned on a housing axis for selectively coupling a housing to a survey rod, wherein the housing axis is collinear with a rod axis centrally-positioned within the survey rod when the system is coupled to the survey rod. The system further includes a cuboid-shaped station-scope for viewing the station along a station-line extending between the system and the station and for viewing the target along a target-line extending between the system and the target. The station-scope includes a mirror equally bisecting the station-scope. The housing axis equally bisects the mirror at an intersection of the station-line and the target-line. The station further includes a rangefinder for aligning a laser with the target, the laser having an origination point along the housing axis.

The present disclosure relates to a holster, comprising a control component, wherein the holster is adapted to allow a user the option of drawing a weapon and an accessory attached to the weapon. Further disclosed herein is a holster, comprising a control component adapted to receive a handgun assembly comprising a handgun and a light accessory attached to the handgun, and further comprising one or more actuators, wherein the one or more actuators are capable of moving between a neutral position and an engaged position, as the handgun assembly is inserted into the holster, retained in the holster, or drawn from the holster. Also disclosed herein are methods of using the holster.

A handheld lighting device is provided with a detachable knife assembly. In one example, the handheld lighting device may include a light source that generates a light beam to illuminate a scene, such as a work area. The knife assembly may be coupled to the lighting device using an attachment mechanism. The lighting device may include a slot that may receive a sleeve of the knife assembly such that the knife assembly may be secured to the lighting device. The lighting device may illuminate the work area such that a user may readily see the area that a knife of the knife assembly may cut. The light source of the lighting device may be activated using a multi-access user control that may be L-shaped and actuated from one or more locations on the user control. Illumination devices may be provided with one or more light sources that emit light of the same, similar, and/or different optical spectra within a wavelength range, for example, from the extreme ultraviolet (UV) to the far infrared (IR). One or more of the light sources may be selectively adjusted to control the overall mix of light projected onto a scene of interest. For example, one or more light sources may be used, and sometimes in conjunction with other optical elements, to provide illumination having a particular angular intensity distribution, color temperature, and/or other desired optical properties for a scene within a field of view (FOV) of the camera of a mobile device used for videography and/or photography. One or more illumination devices may also be used as flashlights and/or as sources of electrical power for recharging mobile devices. Related methods are provided.

A live-fire simulation system uses a position sensitive detector (PSD) in a weapon-mounted sensor to intercept emitted light from target emitters spatially distributed about a target. Each target emitter is modulated with a unique frequency. The system can thus not only determine the points of interception on the PSD but also determine which emitter caused which interception by using a frequency analysis.
