Catalyst comprising zeolite beta and its use in hydrocarbon conversion process

A process for hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising components boiling above 343&#xb0; C. into a middle distillate fraction in the presence of hydrogen under hydrocracking conditions, comprising contacting the hydrocarbon feedstock in a first hydrocracking zone in the presence of one or more hydrocracking catalysts and thereafter in a second hydrocracking zone in the presence of one or more hydrocracking catalysts, and recovering a middle distillate product, wherein the entire effluent from the first hydrocracking zone is passed into the second hydrocracking zone, and at least one hydrocracking catalyst in the first hydrocracking zone comprises one or more hydrogenation components on a support comprising at least one large pore zeolite having a pore diameter in the range of 0.7-1.5 nm and at least one inorganic oxide, and at least one hydrocracking catalyst in the second hydrocracking zone comprises one or more hydrogenation component on a support comprising a beta zeolite and at least one inorganic oxide.

Hydrocracking process

A process for hydrocracking a hydrocarbonaceous feedstock into a middle distillate utilising a hydrocarbon conversion catalyst comprising a modified beta zeolite and a modified Y zeolite, an amorphous inorganic oxide and a hydrogenation component, wherein the said middle distillate is characterised by having a low aromatics content and/or a low pour point.

Hydrocarbon conversion process and catalyst

A composition of matter comprising both (1) zeolite Beta and a (2) Y zeolite having either a unit cell size below about 24.45 angstroms or a water vapor sorption capacity at 25.degree. C. at P/P.sub.o of 0.10 of less than 10.00 weight percent. Typical of the Y zeolites used in the composition of the invention is a UHP-Y zeolite such as LZ-10 zeolite. The composition is especially suited for use in combination with one or more hydrogenation components as a catalyst for hydrocracking various types of feedstocks to produce either gasoline or middle distillate products.

Catalyst containing zeolite Beta

A hydrocarbon conversion catalyst useful for converting hydrocarbon feeds to midbarrel products is prepared by extruding a mixture of an inorganic refractory oxide component and a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having cracking activity to form extrudates which are broken into particles normally ranging in length between 1/16 and 1/2 inch. The extruded particles are then calcined in the presence of steam at a water vapor partial pressure greater than about 2.0 p.s.i.a., preferably greater than about 5.0 p.s.i.a. The calcination step is carried out in the presence of sufficient steam for a sufficient amount of time at a sufficient temperature to convert the crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite in the extrudates into an ultrahydrophobic zeolite having a unit cell size between about 24.20 and about 24.45 Angstroms and a sorptive capacity for water vapor less than about 5 weight percent of the zeolite at 25.degree. C. and a p/p.degree. value of 0.10.

Hydrocarbon conversion catalyst for use in selectively making middle

The selectivity of a midbarrel hydrocracking process for middle distillates is significantly increased by using a catalyst containing a Y zeolite that has been exchanged with rare earth cations. The rare earth-exchanged Y zeolite has a unit cell size below 24.45 angstroms and/or a water vapor sorptive capacity less than 10 weight percent at 25.degree. C. and a p/p.sub.o value of 0.1.

Hydrocracking process for producing middle distillates

A hydrocracking process using a catalyst containing a hydrogenation component, zeolite beta, and between 1 and 15 weight percent of a Y zeolite having a unit cell size less than about 24.40 angstroms.

Hydrocracking catalyst and process

A catalyst useful for hydroprocessing a hydrocarbon-containing oil contains at least one hydrogenation component on an amorphous, porous refractory oxide support containing between 2 and 8 weight percent of silica. The catalyst is prepared by impregnating support particles having a narrow pore size distribution and a median pore diameter greater than about 120 angstroms with a solution containing precursors of the hydrogenation components, followed by drying and calcining. The catalyst is useful for promoting a number of hydrocarbon hydroprocessing reactions, particularly simultaneous hydrogenative desulfurization, demetallization and denitrogenation of residuum-containing oils.

Resid hydroprocessing catalyst

An aromatic saturation process is catalyzed under relatively low pressure conditions in the presence of a halide-containing compound. Additive fluoride-containing compounds can be injected into the feedstock just prior to contact of the feedstock with either a fluoride or nonfluoride-containing catalyst. Also, a catalyst utilized in the invention contains Group VIB and/or Group VIII hydrogenation metals, phosphorus and fluoride supported on an amorphous, porous refractory oxide and has a narrow pore size distribution.

Hydrocracking process using a catalyst selective for making middle

A composition of matter comprising both zeolite Beta and a Y zeolite having a unit cell size above about 24.40 angstroms and, preferably, a water vapor sorptive capacity at 25.degree. C. and a p/p.sub.o value of 0.10 of greater than 15 weight percent. Typical of the Y zeolites used in the composition of the invention are steam-stablized Y zeolites such as LZY-82 and LZY-84 zeolites. The composition is especially suited for us in combination with one or more hydrogenation components as a catalyst for hydrocracking various types of feedstocks.

Catalyst containing zeolite beta and processes for its use

A catalyst containing nickel, tungsten and phosphorus supported on an amorphous, porous refractory oxide having a narrow pore size distribution is utilized for converting hydrocarbon-containing feedstocks. The catalyst is particularly effective for promoting an aromatic saturation reaction.

Hydrocarbon conversion utilizing a nickel-tungsten-phosphorus catalyst

A catalyst for use in acid catalyzed chemical conversion processes such as hydrocarbon conversion processes comprises zeolite beta and a dealuminated Y zeolite having an overall silica-to-alumina mole ratio greater than 6.0, preferably LZ-210 zeolite. A preferred catalyst contains nickel and molybdenum hydrogenation components in addition to the zeolite beta and the LZ-210 zeolite and, when used in gasoline hydrocracking, is found to be more active and selective for both light and heavy gasoline than a commercially available gasoline hydrocracking catalyst containing nickel and molybdenum hydrogenation components and a single steam-stabilized Y zeolite.

Gasoline hydrocracking catalyst and process

A process for hydrocracking various types of hydrocarbon feedstocks in an ammonia-rich environment using a catalyst comprising zeolite Beta and a noble metal hydrogenation component, preferably palladium.
