A toilet seat hinge for mounting a toilet seat to a toilet bowl includes a hinge post and a pin extending through the hinge post and defining an axis. The pin is configured to attach the toilet seat to the hinge post for pivotal movement about the axis. The toilet seat hinge also includes a quick release mechanism for releasably securing the hinge post to the toilet bowl. The quick release mechanism includes a member coupled to the pin for pivotal movement about the axis. The member is pivotable about the axis between a first position in which the hinge post is secured to the toilet bowl, and a second position in which the hinge post is released from the toilet bowl.

Toilet seat hinge

A hinge assembly for a toilet seat, the hinge assembly comprising a hinge post for pivotally supporting the toilet seat on a toilet bowl, a bolt connectable to the hinge post for securing the hinge post to the toilet bowl, the bolt being configured to extend through an opening in the toilet bowl, and a nut threadable onto the bolt to secure the hinge post to the toilet bowl, the nut having a first segment threadable onto the bolt, a second segment and a shear segment connecting the first and second segments, the shear segment having a lower torque resistance than the first and second segments such that the shear segment breaks when torque applied to the second segment reaches a predetermined amount.

Hinge assembly for a toilet seat

A ratchet nut assembly includes an inner member, an outer member, and a spring clip. The inner member includes an outwardly extending tooth. The outer member is positioned around a portion of the inner member and includes an inwardly extending pawl. The pawl is engageable with the tooth to rotate the inner member with the outer member in a first direction when a torque applied to the outer member is below a predetermined value and is operable to deflect outwardly to allow rotation of the outer member relative to the inner member in the first direction when the torque applied to the outer member is above the predetermined value. The pawl is engageable with the tooth to prevent rotation of the outer member relative to the inner member in a second direction. The spring clip is positioned around a portion of the outer member to limit deflection of the pawl.

Ratchet nut assembly

A hinge assembly for a toilet seat, the hinge assembly comprising a hinge post for pivotally supporting the toilet seat on a toilet bowl, and a bolt embedded in the hinge post and configured to extend through an opening in the toilet bowl, the bolt having thereon a plurality of projections extending into the hinge post to distribute to the hinge post forces applied to the bolt.

Combination humidifier and air purifier

An air filtering apparatus including motor selectively connected to a power source, a fan driven by the motor and creating an air flow, a replaceable filter element selectively positioned in the air flow path, and an electronic control. The electronic control includes a clogged filter element detector and an indicator and a missing filter element detector. The current drawn by the fan motor is sensed by a current transformer and compared to a predetermined threshold by a comparator in each detector. If the current drawn by the fan motor is less than the clogged filter element predetermined threshold, the clogged filter element detector operates an indicator. If the current drawn by the fan motor is greater than the missing filter element predetermined threshold, the missing filter element detector operates a controller to disconnect the fan motor from the power source.

Humidifier

A portable humidifier adapted to rest on a supporting surface, the humidifier comprising a base defining a water reservoir and including a bottom wall having therein an air inlet opening spaced horizontally from the reservoir, legs supporting the bottom wall above the supporting surface, a wicking element having a lower portion in fluid communication with the water reservoir, extending transversely relative to vertical, and extending above the inlet opening, and a fan for forcing air flow through the inlet opening and through the wicking element.

A combined mirror and dryer air outlet assembly is mountable to a support such as a wall or a pole. An attachment member such as a cup is affixed to the support. A rotatable housing is connected thereto in a manner to prevent separation, yet permit relative rotation. A mirror and air outlet are mounted on the housing, usually at the front. This permits the height of the air outlet to be changed by rotating the housing. In a preferred version, the housing contains a blower fan and motor as well as an electric heating coil.
