Various silicone materials, which have a low order of toxicity to fish, birds, and wildlife; and which slowly degrade to carbon dioxide and silicon dioxide in the environment, may be used to treat local soils to make them permanently oleophillic. These soils can then be used to minimize, consolidate, and clean up oily spills. Because local soils are used and only minor amounts of chemicals are required, the cost of cleanup is drastically lowered while response time is much quicker.

What is disclosed are food compositions which contain a polyorganosiloxane fluid as a fat substitute and an anti-anal leakage agent. The anti-anal leakage agents comprise C.sup.12 -C.sub.24 essentially saturated fatty acids or edible, digestible sources thereof; non-degradable, water insoluble fibers of plant origin; and silica.

The present invention relates to the use of crosslinkable silicone materials to coat botanic seeds, seedlings, meristematic tissue and plant embryos for their protection and to promote germination. The crosslinkable silicone materials are coated onto the seeds, seedlings, meristematic tissues or plant embryos and crosslinked to cure them. The silicone coatings of the present invention on the surface of the seeds, seedlings, meristematic tissues or plant embryos provide antifungal protection and can be used to carry entrapped plant adjuvants to the site of germination. The crosslinked silicone coatings are permeable to water vapor and oxygen and allow sunlight to pass through to the germinating seed.

An improved remotely controlled miniature vehicle, more particularly an electrically driven miniature car of the type operated on a track-way having contact strips through which power is supplied to the driving motor of the vehicle. Improved remote control is provided for controlling the miniature car for changing one lane to another. The front wheels are steerable by actuation of a steering post. The driving motor is mounted to move physically in response to additional driving torque applied through a gear train to the rear wheels. Mechanism is provided whereby the physical movement of the driving motor actuates the steering mechanism to turn the front wheels for changing from one lane to another. Provided in one form of the invention is a member having rollers that can contact a side wall of the track for positioning the front wheels and steering post to pre-determine the direction of turning in response to physical movement of the driving motor.

A toy vehicle is provided for use in a toy vehicle game including an endless track defining at least two parallely extending vehicle lanes in which two or more toy vehicles are adapted to be operated. The toy vehicles each include a reversible rotary drive motor and a transmission operatively engaged between the motor and two drive wheels for rotating one or the other of the drive wheels in response to the direction of rotation of the drive motor, thereby biasing the car against one or the other of the side walls of the track to guide the vehicle along its path of travel in one or the other of the lanes. The track includes electrical contact strips which supply power to the drive motor of the vehicles through current collectors mounted thereon. A control system permits the operators to separately and independently control current to the contact strips and also to selectively reverse the polarity of the current so that the operators can vary the speed of their associated vehicles and cause the vehicles to move from one lane to the other. In one form of the invention an additional toy vehicle operated as a drone car at constant speed is provided presenting an obstacle along the track which the players must pass by properly controlling their respective toy vehicles.

The subject doll includes a body, a head rotatably mounted on the body, and a pair of arms having hands formed thereon being articulatedly mounted on the body. A drive mechanism is located within the body for simultaneously rotating the doll's head through a predetermined angle to face towards one side of the body and for moving the arms from a first raised position wherein the hands are spaced from one another at about the level of the shoulders of the body to a second position wherein the hands are positioned adjacent each other near the midriff of the body. When the doll is positioned on a play surface, on its midriff with the doll's hands in their first position, the movements of the doll's head and its hands to their second position will cause the center of gravity of the doll to shift. The doll will then tip over in a direction opposite to the direction in which the doll's head faces in its turned position and thus roll over on its back.

The derailleur is mounted inboard as respects the bicycle frame. It is aligned with the rear drive sprockets. The take-up cage carrying sprocket wheels over which the slack part of the chain passes is carried on an actuating rod or stem, which engages a positioning means which provides for positive transfer of the chain from one drive sprocket to another, and for positive alignment of the take-up means and drive chain with individual drive sprockets. The positioning means is in the form of overlying plates, having overlying slots configurated to positively guide the stem carrying the take-up cage to assure the positive transfer of the drive chain, and positive alignment with individual drive sprockets.

An improvement in braking of the wheels of a bicycle wherein both front and rear wheels are equipped with a coaster brake. Flexible connections are provided between the reaction torque arm of the rear coaster brake and the front brake for applying the front brake. Interposed in the connections is a proportioning lever mechanism for adjustably controlling the amount of braking effect transmitted to the front brake. Flexible connections are provided from the reaction torque arm of the front brake back to the lever mechanism for applying a feedback increment of actuation to the front brake. The system increases the effectiveness of the front brake by taking fuller advantage of the weight transfer which occurs in stopping, and the function of preventing throwing the rider over the handlebars is preserved while the positive feedback increment of control increases the braking effort of the front wheel in proportion to the increased load on the front wheel, which occurs in stopping.

As the knitting needle reciprocates between two stationary, upstanding fingers, a notch on the needle loads a loop of yarn onto the fingers and the nose of the needle passes down inside the loop during the down-portion of one stroke and moves up outside the loop to unload it from the fingers during the beginning of the up-portion of the next stroke.

The apparatus includes a platform supported by legs at the corners. It supports the bowling pins which are preferably of formed plastic. A ball is used which is a bean bag type ball containing beans or other particulate material and having a cover of a conventional ball. In the game the ball is not rolled but rather is lobbed. Cords are provided attached to the bases of the pins and to a manually operable lever for automatically resetting the pins manually. The cords and lever are fabricated as an integral plastic molded unit the cords being in the form of flat strips. The pins are of hollow molded construction. Each has a bottom slot opening adapted to receive and anchor a molded joint or barb on the end of a cord.
