Fail safe membrane switches

A toy is comprised of a propulsion system, such as a frame rollably supported by one or more driven wheels. The toy may be configured generically to include one or more platforms and a mounting bracket for connecting or supporting a variety of elements for transport and the remote control is used to control the toy, such as to cause the toy to move forward, in reverse, to stop, and to turn. In one embodiment the toy is utilized to entertain a pet, the toy having an animal likeness connected thereto. The animal likeness maybe animated and controlled remotely as well. The animal likeness is enticing to a pet in engaging in hunting and tracking of the toy.

Motorized amusement device

An improved swab applicator is provided including a swab connected to an elongate stick. The swab applicator further includes a sleeve encapsulating the swab and stick including a handle portion, receptacle portion and transition portion. The handle portion is preferably hollow and cylindrical in shape extending a substantial part around the length of the stick, while the receptacle portion of the sleeve is also hollow and cylindrically shaped having a substantially greater cross section than the handle portion. Meanwhile, the transition portion is preferably hollow and fristo conically shaped to connect the handle portion to the receptacle portion of the sleeve. The transition portion is substantially non-deformable when the receptacle portion of the sleeve is compressed creating a significant level of sheer stress to be imparted between the receptacle portion and transition portion of the sleeve causing the receptacle portion to sever from the rest of the sleeve.

Dry handle swab assembly

A seal for around a pipe penetrating through a wall. A rubbery reducer boot includes a flexible material-reservoir defined by a material curved-fold allowing a pipe-engaging tubular portion of the boot to be moved outward and inward from a relaxed position, and to be angled in extension relative to a stationary back portion of the boot. An end of the pipe-engaging tubular portion includes areas allowing the application of a hose clamp about the tubular portion to compress against the exterior of a secondary containment pipe adjacent the terminal end of the pipe, and the application of another hose clamp outward beyond the terminal end of the secondary pipe and clamping of the boot about a further-extending primary pipe. The back end of the boot near the material-reservoir includes an annular groove for receiving an annular first end of a tubular fitting assembly. A third and larger hose clamp is positioned about the back of the boot to compress and secure the boot sealed about the tubular fitting assembly. An opposite end of the tubular fitting assembly includes a laterally extending flange for abutting a wall with the annular first end of the tubular fitting assembly passing through a hole in the wall. A seal is provided between the tubular fitting assembly flanged end and the wall, and the boot provides a seal between the tubular fitting assembly first end and the pipe passing through the entrance seal and wall.

Adjustable pipe entrance seal

A leak testable bulkhead around a pipe penetrating through a wall, comprising a cylindrical hollow insert for partial passage through a hole in the wall, and through which the pipe passes. The insert has a perpendicular abutment flange preventing complete passage through the hole. Also provided are two rubbery gaskets for sealing, placed on each side of the hole against the wall with the flange abutting one gasket, and a wide-lipped washer against the other gasket. A nut threadably engaged on the insert and placed against the washer secures the insert, gaskets and washer tightly in place. Also included are two flexible reducer boots, a smaller of which is sealingly affixed over an un-threaded end of the insert adjacent the nut and reduces downward and sealingly affixes around the pipe passing through the insert. A larger of the reducers sealingly affixes onto the washer, and reduces downward and sealingly affixes over the pipe slightly beyond the smaller reducer so as to encase the nut and smaller reducer. Connected air passages and chambers are defined in communication with the inner sides of each sealed area. An air input valve on the larger exposed reducer boot allows pressurizing of the passages and chambers so that the ability of the sealed points to retain air pressure may be tested and monitored with a pressure gage.

Testable bulkhead

An aliphatic organic acid fraction is separated from the kraft black liquor by subjecting the liquor to ultrafiltration, treating the resulting permeate by electrodialysis, acidifying the resultant deionate to about pH 4-5, separating the lignin solids which precipitate following this acidification, raising the pH of the separated solution to about 7-8 and finally subjecting the neutralized solution to electrodialytic water-splitting.
