A vibrating filter has a housing, top and bottom plates spaced vertically in an upper portion of the housing and defining an outlet chamber therebetween, at least one filter element dependent from the bottom plate into a filter chamber defined in the housing below the outlet chamber and a process liquid inlet into the filter chamber and a filtered liquid outlet from the outlet chamber. A vibrator containing an eccentrically movable mass, abuts and is energizable directly through the top plate, without need for energizing hoses or conduits within the outlet chamber. The vibrator connects by a slim depending member to the bottom plate carrying the filter elements.

Vibrating filter

A vibrating filter apparatus comprises a housing, a filter unit in the housing and a support unit for supporting the filter unit in the housing. The support unit includes elongate elements in the housing connecting the filter unit in spaced relation to the wall of the housing, and a vibrator unit fixed to the support unit between the housing wall and filter unit and actuable for laterally vibrating the support unit and thereby the filter unit.

Vibrating filter apparatus

A self-cleaning filter assembly for removing solids from an incoming liquid to be filtered. A filter element is fixed substantially coaxially within a housing and spaced from the peripheral wall thereof by an annular solids collection space in turn communicating with a solids outlet. An inlet introduces pressurized liquid to be filtered circumferentially into the solids collection space. A shower assembly rotates coaxially within the filter element and includes an eccentric portion having jets distributed along the length of the filter element and aimed outward close to the inner surface of the filter element. Backwash liquid enters the rotating shower assembly under pressure for continuously pushing solids off the outer surface of the filter element as the shower assembly circumferentially advances in the housing. Filtrate from inside the filter element passes through a filtrate outlet extending from the housing. A solids outlet valve responds to a preselected increase in liquid pressure differential between the inlet and filtrate outlet by opening to increase venting of the annular solids collection space. A filtrate outlet valve may simultaneously close to direct all liquid flow into the housing out the solids outlet.

High solids filter

A filter system includes a tank with a removable cover at one end and a filter basket and liner therefor insertable into the tank to divide it into unfiltered liquid and filtered liquid zones. Inlet and outlet openings are disposed at the open and remaining end, respectively, of the tank with the inlet opening being in the side wall of the tank, near such open end, so as not to interfere with opening and closing of the cover. Inner and outer annuli are fixed to the tank side wall and face radially into the tank, with the inlet opening interposed axially therebetween. A spacer insertable into the tank comprises an annular inner disk pressable toward the inner annulus for gripping therebetween an inner resilient seal which in turn engages the adjacent edges of the filter basket and filter liner to prevent leakage therearound between the unfiltered and filtered liquid zones. The spacer includes an outer disk with a radially extending free edge overlying the outer annulus and adapted to support an outer resilient seal between the outer annulus and cover for sealing against liquid leakage from the tank at the cover, such that tightening of the cover onto the tank sealingly compresses the outer resilient seal and through the spacer sealingly compresses the inner resilient seal. The spacer is of open construction permitting liquid communication between the inlet opening to the tank and the open end of the filter liner.

Duplex seal for a bag-type filter system

A filter assembly including a housing with a plurality of individual filter units circumferentially arranged within the housing. The housing is compartmented to channel a contaminated fluid to be filtered in a filtering direction through the filter units, from one end thereof to the other. A rotatable, conduit-like backwash arm is disposed in at least one end of the housing for sealed engagement with the contaminated fluid inlet, end of a filter unit and for receiving a backwashing fluid flow therefrom. A rotatable discharge pipe connects to the outlet end of the arm and extends from the housing through a rotary-axial bearing and seal unit thereon, and is coaxially arranged with respect to the circumferential array of filter units. A rotation indexing unit adjacent the housing engages the discharge pipe for angularly shifting said backwash arm from filter unit to filter unit and thereby for backwashing of said filter units in a desired sequence. An axial shift unit engages the discharge pipe for axially shifting the backwash arm away from the filter units preparatory to each angular shift, and for axially shifting the backwash arm into sealed engagement with a new filter unit following such an angular shift. A control coordinates actuation of the rotational indexing unit and axial shift unit for sequentially backwashing filter units of the array. In a modification, a rotatable backwash arm is provided at each end of the array of filter units, movement of the arms being synchronized and the arms being axially opposed for sequentially backwashing the filter unit with a backwashing fluid other than the filtered fluid. In a further modification, the axial shift unit comprises a camming device directly responsive to rotation of the discharge pipe for carrying out the axial shifting of the backwash arm.
