The combination of: a portable article; and a tethering system having an elongate flexible component, a main body having a first slot, and a housing. A part of the elongate component is fixed to the main body. A length of the elongate component extending away from the fixed part can be formed into a 'U' shape with spaced legs, with one of the legs directed into the first slot over a first length of the main body and to beyond the main body for connection to a support. With the housing and main body in an assembled relationship, the housing blocks the one of the spaced legs of the “U” in the first slot on the main body over the first length whereby friction forces generated between the elongate component and at least one of the main body and housing resist sliding of the elongate flexible component along the first slot as would change a size of the “U” shape.

Tethering system for portable article

A security system having: a frame with first and second support assemblies respectively having first and second cantilevered arms, each with a free end; and a blocking assembly. The first free end can be directed into a U-shaped portion on a first portable consumer article to allow the U-shaped portion to straddle the first cantilevered arm. The second free end can be directed into a U-shaped portion on a second portable consumer article to allow the U-shaped portion on the second article to straddle the second cantilevered arm. Changing the blocking assembly from the loading state into the securing state prevents the first and second articles, straddling respective arms, from being separated from the security system. Changing the blocking assembly from the securing state into the loading state allows either of the first and second displayed articles to be separated from the security system without separating the other.

Security system for portable consumer article

A support assembly for displaying a portable article having a frame to engage the portable article and a blocking assembly configured with a plurality of arms to maintain the portable article in a display position on the frame. One of the arms is part of a first component. At least a first connector on the first component and at least a first connector on the frame are configured so that the first component can be moved in a first direction: a) from a pre-assembly position, spaced from the frame, towards the frame; and b) into an operative position to thereby cause the at least first connector on the first component to engage the at least first connector on the frame. In the operative position, the first component is substantially blocked from translating relative to the frame in a direction transversely to the first direction.

System for displaying a portable article

In combination: a) a portable consumer article having a U-shaped portion; and b) a security system having: a frame; and a closure assembly movable to change the security system between a loading state and a secured state. The frame, closure assembly, and portable consumer article are configured so that: i) with the security system in the loading state the U-shaped portion can be displayed to straddle a part of the frame; and ii) with the portable consumer article displayed the security system can be changed from the loading state into the secured state wherein the article is prevented from being separated from the security system.

A support assembly having a frame to support a portable article in a display position. The frame has first and second frame parts movable one relative to the other to change a dimension of a receiving space for a part of the first portable article. The frame is configured so that: a) relative movement can be effected between the first and second frame parts between: i) a first relationship wherein the receiving space has a first receiving dimension; and ii) a second relationship wherein the receiving space has a second receiving dimension that is less than the first receiving dimension; and b) the first and second frame parts upon being changed from the first relationship into the second relationship are blocked from changing from the second relationship back into the first relationship.

Support assembly for displaying a portable article

A printing press ink scraping blade is disclosed. The ink scraping blade is of a unitary construction and includes a working end as well as a mounting end. The working end is preferably substantially thicker than the mounting end to provide substantially more material at the working end. As the scraping blade engages a scraping roller of a printing press, the blade is exposed to abrasive action and the additional material provided increases the serviceable life of the blade. To ensure that the blade maintains sufficient flexibility and deflection characteristics, the remainder or mounting end of the blade, is of a substantially reduced thickness. The blade may be manufactured from spring steel to further enhance flexibility.

Printing press scraping blade

In order to control the delivery of a liquid to a vessel, a liquid level control system includes a regulated supply of low pressure air delivered to an air supply tube which extends to a liquid vessel for discharging the low pressure air at a preselected level within the liquid vessel. The control system also includes a sensor sensing fluctuations in air pressure at an intermediate point along the air supply tube. In particular, the sensor senses a first air pressure when the liquid is below the preselected level and sensing a second, higher air pressure when the liquid is at or above the preselected level. The sensor is in communication with the liquid supply source to produce a signal upon sensing the second, higher air pressure in the air supply tube. When the higher pressure is sensed, the sensor sends the signal it produced and the liquid supply source is responsive to the signal to stop supplying liquid to the liquid vessel.

Liquid level control system

A fluid level detection system (50) for ink in a printing press (10) having a vessel (58) having walls (60) defining a chamber (62), an elongated rotatable shaft (64) in the chamber (62), a motor (66) for rotating the shaft (64), an elongated flexible blade (68) affixed to the shaft 64 such that the motor (66) rotates the blade (68), and a proximity sensor (72) adjacent the walls (60) of the vessel (58) to detect the rotating blade (68) in the absence of ink at the level of the blade (68), with the blade (68) flexing in the presence of ink such that the sensor (72) does not detect the blade (68).

Fluid level detection system for ink in a printing press

A printing fluid circulating device for use in a printing press having a printing fluid container (32) for containing printing fluid and having a rotatable pickup roller (34) partially submerged in the printing fluid in the container (32). The pickup roller (34) has a surface for picking up printing fluid. The printing fluid circulating device has at least one outer ribbon (10, 12) having a predetermined diameter and a predetermined surface area and at least one inner ribbon (14, 16) also having a predetermined diameter and a predetermined surface area. The diameter of the inner ribbon (14, 16) is less than the diameter of the outer ribbon (10, 12) and the surface area of the outer ribbon (10, 12) is less than the surface area of the inner ribbon (14, 16). Each of the outer and inner ribbons (10, 12, 14, 16) has a substantially helix configuration, the helix configuration of the inner ribbon (14, 16) being opposite the helix configuration of the outer ribbon (10, 12). A rotatable shaft (18) for supporting the outer ribbon (10, 12) and the inner ribbon (14, 16) about a common axis is provided.
