The invention relates to systems and methods for the diagnosis, amelioration, and treatment of ischemic tissues in patients caused by and/or resulting from diminished microvascular blood flow. Patients suffering from ischemic tissue conditions can be categorized into specific subsets that are deemed to have a potential to respond to therapy. In particular, the invention includes various therapies involving stimulation of angiogenesis, vasculogenesis, arteriogenesis and/or neovascularization so as to increase perfusion of various tissues.

Systems and methods for angiogenic treatment in wound healing

Methods for the diagnosis and treatment of ischemic spinal conditions, degenerative disc disease, back pain and/or other tissue pathologies. Patients with ischemic spine disease can be categorized into subsets that are deemed to have potential to respond to therapy. Therapeutic angiogenesis for treatment of the spine and other tissues

An adjustable fastener is provided. The adjustable fastener includes an elongated main body and a mounting bracket for receiving the main body therein. The elongated main body includes a plurality of teeth along the length of the main body. The mounting bracket includes a latching mechanism disposed on a front face thereof, the latching mechanism having a first end including a release lever and a second end including a plurality of ribs extending into an interior volume of the mounting bracket. The ribs on the second end of the latching mechanism engage with the teeth on the main body to slidably secure the main body within the mounting bracket, thereby providing a vertically adjustable fastener.

Therapeutic angiogenesis for treatment of the spine

A sheet feeder with a feed wheel assembly for conveying an end sheet from a stack of sheets. The feed wheel assembly has a rotatable engagement wheel positioned to contact the end sheet of the stack, and operable to separate and convey the end sheet from the stack; a horizontally extending first shaft on which the wheel is mounted, with the first shaft being angularly movable in a generally vertical direction; a horizontally extending second shaft positioned spaced apart from the first shaft, the second shaft being mounted in a substantially fixed planar orientation to a support frame; and a pair of laterally spaced-apart first and second arms extending between the first and second shafts. Each of the first and second arms has a first portion retaining the first shaft and a second portion longitudinally spaced from the first portion and pivotally connected to the second shaft. The first and second arms are independently-pivotally movable about the second shaft within at least a limited range to permit uninhibited angular movement of the first shaft in a generally vertical direction during operation.

Sheet feeder

A microfiche feeder 10 conveys isolated sheets of microfiche from a stack 30 to a collator 12, sorter, or other processing apparatus. The stack of microfiche is placed in a receiver. A drive wheel 34 contacts the lowest sheet of the stack 30 to increment the sheet forward by suction as the wheel revolves. Spaced separator rolls 44 and 46 adjacent the drive wheel 34 ensure that a single sheet of microfiche is incremented forward to drive rolls 52 and 54, which convey the sheet to other processing apparatus.

Submergible pumping apparatus for use in an oil or other well comprises, in a self-contained downhole unit, a double-acting reciprocating positive displacement pump for pumping well fluid, a reservoir containing power fluid for operating the double-acting pump, a rotary motor-driven positive displacement pump for supplying power fluid under pressure from the reservoir to operate the reciprocating pump, and a control valve for properly directing high pressure power fluid from the rotary pump to the reciprocating pump and from the reciprocating pump back to the reservoir so as to provide stroke reversal of the reciprocating pump.
