A pressure measurement device includes a housing having an inlet, a transducer coupled to the inlet to generate an electrical signal representative of pressure at the inlet, and a data communication device coupled to the transducer to transmit a wireless signal corresponding to the electrical signal.

An electronic pressure instrument that is easy to monitor and calibrate, and is relatively small and functional, is disclosed. The electronic pressure instrument includes two pressure inputs for receiving two fluids, which can eventually be provided to a transducer for converting a pressure differential of the two fluids to an electrical signal. Positioned between the two pressure inputs and the transducer is a rotatable valve having a mechanical test port and a plurality of conduits for selectively directing at least one of the fluids to the transducer or the mechanical test port. When the valve is in a first position, the two fluids are directed to the transducer. When the valve is in a second position, the at least one fluid is directed to the mechanical test port.

A system and method for providing a hand held measurement instrument utilizing a touch screen display to provide a flexible and un-cluttered user interface. The measurement instrument includes a controller connected to the touch screen display as well as to a control port and a probe port. The control port supplies screen data for use by the touch screen display as well as control data for use in analyzing measurement signals received from the probe port. The controller retrieves one of the screens to be shown on the touch screen display, the screen including one or more keys. In response to one of the keys being touched, the controller performs a predetermined measurement function. In response to another one of the keys being touched, the controller retrieves another of the screens to be shown on the touch screen display. As a result, the touch screen display allows an ideal number of keys to be available to the user for a particular measurement function. Furthermore, each of the keys is appropriately labeled and positioned.

An annular recessed snap-in fit is provided internally juxtaposed to an opening through the top surface of a molded plastic ski pole grip handle for supporting the dial case of a received stem and dial-type thermometer. A heat transfer composition within the tubular metal shank of the ski pole is adapted to support the distal end of a received thermometer in thermal communication with the ambient weather while convenient readability of the thermometer is provided through the top face opening in the grip handle.
