A swivel bayonet joint for transferring cryogenic fluids includes a plug bayonet joint and a socket bayonet joint. The plug bayonet joint has an insertion stem with an insertion jacket surrounding and co-axial with a plug inner line of a corresponding pipe section, and a first clamp member having at least one race. The socket bayonet joint has a vacuum jacket at a distal end thereof that sleeves over the insertion stem of the plug bayonet joint, and a second clamp member having at least one race. When the plug bayonet joint is mated with the socket bayonet joint, the race of the plug bayonet joint aligns with the race of the socket bayonet joint to define a clamp member that is filled with ball bearings, the ball bearings functioning to lock the plug bayonet joint to the socket bayonet joint so as to allow rotation therebetween.

Cryogenic rotating seal

A cryogenic seal for vacuum-insulated pipe systems where the pipe system includes an inner pipe connected to an outer pipe by a bellows. The seal prevents cryogenic liquid from leaking from the inner pipe into the annular vacuum space between the inner and outer pipes in the event of bellows failure. One end of the bellows is connected to the inner pipe by a movable bellows ring and the other end of the bellows is attached to the outer pipe by a fixed bellows ring. A bellows guide is attached to the fixed bellows ring and receives the movable bellows ring in a sliding fashion. The seal may be positioned between the movable bellows ring and the bellows guide or between the fixed bellows ring and the outer surface of the inner pipe. The seal may also be positioned between the bellows shield and the movable bellows ring. The seal may be a leak control ring or the packed gland type.

Cryogenic seal for vacuum-insulated pipe expansion bellows

A fluid piping system and pipe spools are provided. The fluid piping system has at least one pipe spool. The pipe spool has an inner wall and an outer wall with at insulating area defined at least in part by the inner and outer wall. The insulating area of the pipe spool acts to isolate any leak of cryogenic fluid in the pipe spool.

A fail safe secondary containment system for a cryogenic liquid transport pipeline spool having a mainline liquid transport pipe and a secondary containment pipe which overlies the mainline liquid transport pipe and is affixed to the outer surface of the mainline liquid transport pipe to form a sealed annular containment space therebetween, has a cap mounted on the secondary containment pipe to provide a sealed tertiary space. A first check valve has an inlet connected to the secondary containment space for receiving fluid therefrom and an outlet connected to the tertiary containment space and a second check valve has an inlet connected to the tertiary containment space for receiving fluid therefrom and an outlet connected to the inside of the mainline liquid transport pipe.

Fail safe secondary containment system for a cryogenic liquid transport pipeline

A cryogenic fluid piping system is provided with two or more coupled pipe spools, each spool having an inner and outer pipe, the inner for carrying cryogenic fluid. The pipe spools are also configured with a bayonet connection to allow expansion and contraction of the system without failure. A leak control device and pressure relief device are included to protect the system from catastrophic failure in the event of a cryogenic fluid leak from the inner pipe.

Controlled leak cryogenic bayonet pipe spool and system

A system for supporting pipe within soil or fill material which minimizes positional disturbances of the pipe despite seasonal fluctuations in atmospheric temperature is provided. The system provides a length of double walled pipe, a support member placed in the soil or fill material and a wicking device which transfers energy between the inner pipe of the double walled pipe which is typically full of a cryogenic fluid and the support. The energy transfer stabilizes the soil or fill material, typically by freezing.

A vacuum-jacketed bayonet pipe spool system for cryogenic fluid. The pipe spool comprises a male bayonet to fit within a female bayonet of an opposing pipe and an expansion-contraction second bellows about the outer end of the male bayonet for stress-free movement.

Swivel bayonet joint for cryogenic fluids

A system and method for the delivery of cryogenic fluid, more particularly a cryogenic fuel, such as, for example, but not limited to an liquified natural gas (LNG), to a cryogenic fluid using source, and more particularly an LNG fuel source, and even more particularly an LNG fuel-operated engine. The system includes a source of a cryogenic fluid, more particularly an underground tank and with a liquid level within the underground tank source. The system includes a delivery pump to deliver cryogenic fluid from the underground tank source, to a cryogenic using source, typically an LNG fuel source above the underground tank source, with the pump located below the liquid level of the cryogenic fluid in the cryogenic fluid fuel tank. The system includes a sump containing cryogenic fluid, and the delivery pump positioned and immersed in the cryogenic liquid in the sump, and a conduit and valve to deliver cryogenic fluid through the use of the cryogenic fluid flow pump from the underground cryogenic fluid tank source to an above-ground or level using source, such as an LNG operated vehicle.
