Provisioning of Internet Protocol (IP) configuration data or other configuration related data for devices or services connected to a passive optical network (PON) is contemplated. The provisioning may be facilitated with an optical line terminal (OLT) providing the desired configuration data over the PON to an optical network unit (ONU) connected to the device or service desired for provisioning, such as to enable the ONU to provision the device or service without exchanging Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) messaging with a DHCP server.

Data provisioning

A method for multi-tenant authorization includes receiving, from a user account of a multi-tenant computer system, a request for a resource of the multi-tenant computer system. The method further includes determining whether the resource corresponds to a local resource that is local to the user account or to a nonlocal resource that is not local to the user account. The method further includes identifying, by a processing device, a local access control policy of the user account, corresponding to the local resource, or a visiting access control policy of the user account, corresponding to the nonlocal resource. The method further includes determining that the identified access control policy of the user account comprises an access permission corresponding to the resource. The method further includes controlling access to the resource of the multi-tenant computer system based on the access permission.

Multi-tenant authorization

A method may include receiving, from a client device, a request for a resource of a computer system, determining one or more roles of a user associated with the client device, and determining one or more attributes of the user. The method may include determining one or more attributes of the resource and determining an access permission based on the one or more roles of the user and the resource. The method may include generating, by a processing device, a modified access permission by modifying the access permission based on at least one of: the one or more attributes of the user or the one or more attributes of the resource and providing or denying access to the resource of the computer system based on the modified access permission.

Hybrid role and attribute based access control system

Mapping of Address and Port (MAP) provisioning of a device to enable exchange of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) packets with an IP version 6 (IPv6) domain is contemplated. The MAP provisioning may be sufficient to facilitate provisioning of a router to process IPv4 packets for exchange with the IPv6 domain of an associated modem.

Mapping of address and port (MAP) provisioning

A clasp which is lockable in both an open and a closed position includes a body having a first opening, a second opening, and an internal space; a connector fixed to the body for linking to a chain; a first spring; and a moveable connector. The movable connector, inseparable from the body, is movable to a locked closed position by the first spring and movable to a locked open position by an external force. The movable connector includes a first latch piece within the internal space of the body, and extends through the first opening. A button extends through the second opening. The button includes a second spring and a second latch piece that interfaces with the first latch piece. In a first position of the button, the second latch piece locks with the first latch piece. In a second position of the button, the second latch piece and the first latch piece disengage and the movable connector can be moved by an external force allowing the second spring to move the second latch piece to a position that keeps the movable connector in the locked open position.

A precision electromechanical measuring device utilizes a strain gauge or pressure transducer to sense changes of position in a workpiece contacting finger. The finger is pivotable about a relatively stiff pivot to different positions, enabling the instrument's use as a center finder for circular bores and pins or for verifying the flatness and perpendicularity of a disc or plate to the axis of rotation of a spindle. A housing of the device supports a rotatable shank extending from one end for engagement in a chuck, mandrel or collet associated with a spindle of a machine, and also supports pivotal apparatus including the finger extending out the other end of the housing. Brushes conduct a variable signal from the strain gauge in the housing to the exterior, where the signal is fed to an ammeter. In use as a center finder, the device is fixed in a chuck or mandrel, with a workpiece approximately alligned with the center of rotation of the mandrel, the finger is engaged against the interior of a bore or the exterior of a pin of the workpiece, and the machine spindle is power-rotated to sweep the finger around the bore or pin. Variations in the reading of the ammeter indicate eccentricity and direction and degree of eccentricity.

Precision electromechanical measuring device

A piston-like member slides within a valve body, with one end sealingly engageable against a valve seat communicating with an inlet port. The other end of the piston-like member forms a movable wall of an expansible chamber which, when it expands, moves the member toward valve closure. Preferably, both ends of the piston-like member are engaged against diaphragms, one of which seals against the valve seat to close the valve and the other of which serves as the movable wall of the expansible chamber. The valve may be solenoid operated, preferably with a solenoid of linear force characteristics, the solenoid being connected to the piston-member via a pivoted arm. The solenoid-controlled valve can be used to control the flow of a very highly pressurized or large-volume inlet fluid with a relatively low solenoid force by connecting the expansible chamber with inlet pressure, so that inlet pressure acts on both ends of the piston-like member, tending to balance forces. Without solenoid operation, the valve can serve as a relief valve or as a pilot operated valve with pilot pressure connected to the expansible chamber. The valve can also serve as a pressure regulator for establishing a constant ratio of outlet pressure to inlet pressure, by connecting the valve outlet with the expansible chamber, with the expansible chamber diaphragm being of larger effective area than the valve closure diaphragm.

Valve

A solenoid for uses such as in a valve for fluid flow control. The solenoid has an armature movable within a core in response to current in a field coil. The armature is shaped as a cone with a hemispherical end so as to give a power output that is a substantially linear function of said current. In a valve, valve control means connects a valve member to the armature for moving the valve member to and from a valve seat to control fluid flow therethrough.

Solenoid having a linear response

A solenoid valve for fluid flow control, in which the solenoid has an armature movable within a core in response to current in a field coil. The armature is shaped as a cone with a hemispherical end so as to give a power output that is a substantially linear function of said current. Valve control means connects a valve member to the armature for moving the valve member to and from a valve seat to control fluid flow therethrough.

Auxiliary power system and apparatus

An auxiliary power system for an internal combustion engine. The system employs a vapor or hot gas engine coupled to an internal combustion engine by means of an overruning clutch assembly. The internal combustion engine, operated conventionally, generates heat in its cooling and exhaust systems as well as in accessory equipment. The heat generated in the internal combustion engine and its accessories is used for generating vapor in one or more heat exchangers, the vapor preferably being from a liquid with a boiling point well below that of water. The generated vapor is used to drive a vapor engine. Temperature-sensitive means is employed to measure the heat generated in one or more parts of the system for controlling a linear solenoid valve for automatically controlling the internal combustion engine temperatures and thereby the amount of vapor generated. A vacuum-controlled throttle valve is also employed in conjunction with the solenoid-operated valve for automatically controlling the input of vapor to the vapor engine for controlling its idle speed and for providing maximum acceleration as needed. Safety valve means and vapor condensing means are provided at the output of the heat exchangers and steam engine to condense the generated vapor for recirculation in the system.

A means of and method of forming sheet metal by use of fluid pressure wherein an initially flat sheet metal work piece is placed on a backing plate with its margins clamped between the plate and a peripheral clamping ring. The clamping ring is clamped against the margin of the work piece by a plurality of fluid operated clamping units. the side of the work piece opposite from the backing plate and within the clamping ring is free to expand or distend without restraint except that provided by the metal comprising the work piece itself. Pressure fluid is introduced between the metal work piece and its backing plate to cause the work piece to distend away from the backing plate. A set of freely movable feeler strips engage the edge of the work piece at spaced points. The feeler strips control sensing units which, in turn, control the pressure exerted by the clamping units so as to permit predetermined slippage of the margin of the work piece with respect to the clamping rings. If the dimensions of the work piece are critical and the undulated zone of the work piece is within the boundaries of the finished product, the work piece is placed on the same or second backing plate so that the margins of the work piece are between the backing plate and a clamping ring of predetermined increased internal dimension to clear the periphery of the distended portion of the work piece. A forming die overlies and clears the distended work piece and is joined at its periphery to the clamping ring. After removing air from the distended work piece, pressure fluid is applied to further distend the work piece, eliminating the undulations and presses the work piece into conformity with the die while its margin is clamped against slippage. One embodiment of the means and method includes a valve sensitive to the pressure of the pressure fluid for varying the pressure in the clamp units in proportion to the change in pressure required to form the work piece as the work piece changes its shape. Another embodiment utilizes a deformable membrane, which may be a second work piece, in place of the backing plate. A further embodiment involves the sandwiching of the part to be formed between sheets of expendable sheets. A still further embodiment includes the use of pressure fluid, heated or cooled to temperatures at which the forming of the metal is enhanced.
