An improved weatherstrip molding or trim strip includes a dual durometer, coextruded molding body, with a laminated decorative film strip bonded to the harder durometer portion of the molding body in order to provide improved resistance to physical damage and environmental conditions for the film strip. The film strip offers the capability of providing a color-matched or color-coordinated appearance for a vehicle body, as well as a wide variety of gloss levels.

Weatherstrip molding and method of making same

A seal assembly for the perimeter of a window of an automotive vehicle that has an elongated support channel extending around the window perimeter and an elongated continuous tubular sealing member. The elongated continuous tubular sealing member is wound at least twice around the perimeter in overlapping relation with itself and secured in the channel to provide an inner seal and an outer seal with a transition length therebetween, the ends of the elongated continuous tubular sealing member being positioned proximate to and abutting the transition length.

Vehicle window seal assembly adapted for robotics application

An automotive beltline weatherstrip engaging an end flange of a vehicle for operative sealing between a glass window and a vehicle surface. The beltline weatherstrip having a core metallic layer and a dissimilar outer appearance metallic layer, separated by a film barrier layer, thereby preventing galvanic corrosion. A further aspect of the present invention relates to processes by which the weatherstrip with two dissimilar materials, separated by a barrier layer, can be manufactured.

Corrosion barrier for automotive weatherstrips

A gasket system has a gasket adapted to be secured about an opening. The gasket includes a mechanism for retaining and sealing a window or the like. The gasket is positioned about the opening such that when the window is positioned within the opening, the window substantially conceals the gasket and is flush at its perimeter with the opening.

Four-sided flush glass assembly

A system for attaching automotive trim to a vehicle door is disclosed. The system includes a weather stripping adapted to be secured on a flange of the vehicle. The weather stripping has a member for retaining the weather stripping on the flange and a member for sealing the weather stripping with the vehicle. An automotive trim strip with a retaining portion is coupled with the weather stripping to retain the trim strip onto the vehicle.
