Disclosed herein is a hydraulic hand tool. The tool includes a frame, a hydraulic drive, a drive shaft, and a seal assembly. The hydraulic drive is connected to the frame and includes a housing. The drive shaft extends from the hydraulic drive. The seal assembly is located between the drive shaft and the housing. The seal assembly includes a first seal member, a second seal member, and a carrier ring. The first seal member is in contact with the housing. The second seal member is in contact with the drive shaft. The carrier ring has an outer annular groove and an inner annular groove. The first seal member is located within the outer annular groove. The second seal member is located within the inner annular groove. The carrier ring includes a polymer material configured to elastically deform in response to a hydraulic load from hydraulic fluid at the hydraulic drive.

Static/dynamic shaft seal

Disclosed herein is a hydraulic tool working head guide. The hydraulic tool working head guide includes a main section having a general plate shape. The main section is adapted to be connected to an exterior surface of a hydraulic tool working head. The main section includes a slot having an open end at an edge of the main section and a closed end at a middle portion of the main section. The slot extends through a thickness of the main section. The closed end is adapted to be aligned with a receiving area of the hydraulic tool working head. The slot is adapted to substantially center a connector and/or a conductor in the receiving area.

Crimping tool connector locator

A hand-held, battery-powered, hydraulically-actuated tool including a frame forming a tool longitudinal axis; a battery offset from the tool longitudinal axis; and located along the tool longitudinal axis a motor connected to the battery; a hydraulic fluid pump connected to the motor, such as by a transmission; a ram movably connected to the frame and adapted to be moved relative to the frame by hydraulic fluid pumped by the hydraulic fluid pump; and a working head adapted to be actuated by the ram. The tool includes a main section situated in an in-line configuration along the tool longitudinal axis. A center longitudinal axis of the battery is offset from the tool longitudinal axis.

Hand-held, portable, battery-powered hydraulic tool

A hydraulic tool having a frame, and a movable adapter. The frame defines a workspace with an anvil adapter at one end and a substantially flat face guide surface on one side of the workspace. The movable adapter is used for working a piece in the workspace against the anvil adapter. The movable adapter is movably mounted to the frame to move in the workspace relative to the frame along an axis of translation. The movable adapter has a substantially flat face seating surface seated against the guide surface of the frame. When the movable adapter is moved, the seating surface of the movable adapter rides upon the guide surface. The seating surface and guide surface interface with each other for maintaining the movable adapter in a predetermined orientation relative to the frame.

Portable hydraulic crimping tool

An electrical connector crimping die comprising a first section for removably connecting the die to an electrical connector compression tool; and a second section connected to the first section for contacting an electrical connector. The second section comprises a generally crescent shaped crimp projection forming a crimp surface and at least one secondary over-crimp prevention surface. The secondary surface is recessed relative to the crimp surface and has a general radius of curvature larger than a general radius of curvature of the crimp surface.

Electrical connector crimping die with over-crimp prevention surface and method

A stair bracket for constructing a staircase is formed from a single strip of sheet metal. One edge of the strip at one end and is upturned to form a flange having a length at least equal to the depth of a stair tread, and the same edge at the other end is downturned into a channel having a length at least equal to the height of a riser, the channel and flange meeting in the middle of the strip. In use the strip is bent at a right angle in the middle at the juncture point with the flange being on the inside of the angle and the channel being on the outside.
