A package including a container that has a layer having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The layer forms an interior space, and the container has a first window only on a portion of a first side of the exterior surface. The container has in the interior space a plurality of absorbent articles that are the same type. Each absorbent article has a thickness and substantially the same absorbent capacity, and each absorbent article is individually wrapped in a wrapper. The exterior surface of the container has a first signal color corresponding to the absorbent capacity, and each of the wrappers have a second signal color corresponding to the absorbent capacity, the second signal color being a same hue but a different intensity than the first signal color. In addition, at least a portion of the thickness of at least one of the absorbent articles can be viewed through the window.

A package including a container having a layer with an interior surface and an exterior surface. The layer forms an interior space. The container includes a window on only a portion of the exterior surface. The container contains within the interior space one or more absorbent articles each having substantially the same absorbent capacity. Each absorbent article is individually wrapped in a wrapper. The exterior surface of the container has a signal color corresponding to the absorbent capacity, and each of the wrappers has a substantially similar signal color in the form of a design. In addition, only a portion of the wrapper can be viewed through the window.

A package comprising a container and a plurality of tampons. The container includes a layer having an interior surface and an exterior surface, the layer forming an interior space. The container also includes a window that can be clear and can be circular in shape. The container contains in the interior space a plurality of tampons, each of the tampons having an absorbent capacity between about 6 grams and 15 grams and each of the tampons being individually wrapped in a wrapper. The exterior surface of the container has a signal color corresponding to an absorbent capacity, and at least one of the wrappers of the tampons has a substantially similar or same signal color, the substantially similar or same signal color on the wrapper being visible through the window.

The present invention encompasses a package having a container with a layer. The layer has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The layer forms an interior space. The interior space has a plurality of absorbent articles forming a stack within the interior space of the container. Each of the absorbent articles has a thickness and is individually wrapped in a wrapper. The wrapper of each of the absorbent articles has a distinctive color. The exterior surface of the container has a graphic which has a distinctive color and a first window in the container. The first window reveals at least a portion of the thickness of at least one of the absorbent articles and at least a portion of the distinctive color of the wrapper.

An individual package in combination with a hygienic device has a body comprising walls which surround and contain the device within the body; a rupturable seal line running along the axis of at least one side of the body, and an opening member situated on the seal line and extending outward from the body. The hygienic device is positioned within the package. The hygienic device is readily retrievable from the package such that a user neither touches nor contaminates the absorbent portion of the hygienic device with any part of her hand prior to the use and in using the hygienic device. Tampons, interlabial devices, swabs, and bandages are thereby afforded means for sterile usage and subsequent hygienic disposal.

The present invention provides a disposable absorbent article such as an incontinent pad that is both comfortable and suitable for absorbing and containing large volumes of bodily liquids without leakage. Such an absorbent article includes a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet joined to the topsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core includes a material which expands when wetted. The backsheet includes at least one pleat which is tacked with a liquid soluble adhesive such that when the liquid soluble adhesive is wetted the adhesive dissolves allowing the pleat to expand as the absorbent core expands. The pleats may extend in any direction, but preferably extend either substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the article or substantially parallel to the transverse axis of the absorbent article.

Absorbent articles having side panels that provide inflected barrier cuffs which promotes better containment and fit. The absorbent articles comprise a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet; a side panel extending laterally from each longitudinal edge of the absorbent article and having a proximal edge and a distal edge; spacing means for spacing the distal edge away from the liquid-receiving surface (topsheet) of the absorbent article; and a closing means for securing the distal edges inboard of the proximal edges in the front waist region. The distal edge of the side panel is secured inboard of the proximal edges in the front waist region and is disposed outboard of the proximal edge in the rear waist region when fitted to the wearer. Thus, the side panels are inflected such that the portion of the side panels in the rear waist region provide a gasketing action about the buttocks of the wearer to contain exudates and a snug fit, while the stand-up portions of the side panels in the crotch region and the closed portion of the side panels in the front waist region provide channels to contain, restrain and hold body exudates.
