Using the techniques discussed herein, a set of images is captured by one or more array imagers (). Each array imager includes multiple imagers configured in various manners. Each array imager captures multiple images of substantially a same scene at substantially a same time. The images captured by each array image are encoded by multiple processors (). Each processor can encode sets of images captured by a different array imager, or each processor can encode different sets of images captured by the same array imager. The encoding of the images is performed using various image-compression techniques so that the information that results from the encoding is smaller, in terms of storage size, than the uncompressed images.

Multi-processor support for array imagers

Disclosed are techniques for sizing wearable items by device scanning. A shopper scans a wearable item with a sensor assembly of a mobile computing device, such as a mobile phone. A wearable-item mapping is generated based on the scan of the wearable item. Similarly, a body part of the shopper is scanned with the sensor assembly to generate a body-part mapping based on the scan of the body part. The wearable-item mapping is then be compared to the body-part mapping, and a fit result determined based on the comparison. The fit result indicates for the shopper whether or not the wearable item is compatible with an associated body part and likely to fit the person. The fit result is presented at the mobile computing device, such as via an audio feedback or a visual feedback.

Sizing wearable items by device scanning

This document describes techniques and apparatuses for implementing multi-spectral compression. These techniques enable a computing device to capture a set of images at different spectral sensitivities using a multi-spectral array imager. Once the set of images are captured by the multi-spectral array imager, the set may be encoded using encoding techniques that involve spectral prediction in addition to spatial and temporal prediction.

A method includes receiving a status update from a client device, the status update reflects at least one change associated with the client device, updating a model of the client device based on the status update, receiving data to be screened for a virus, the data is received after an updating of the model of the client device, and screening the model of the client device for the virus. Computer virus screening methods and systems

A virus screening method includes steps of routing a call between a calling party and a called party of a telephone network, receiving computer data from a first party of the calling party and the called party, and detecting a virus in the computer data. In response to detecting the virus, a step of inhibiting communication of at least a portion the computer data to a second party of the calling party and the called party is performed. A virus screening system is also disclosed.

An architecture is disclosed for a computer system that runs applications serving multiple users. The computer system includes multiple processors, some of which run quick applications, i.e., requiring real time response, while others run applications with less stringent requirements. Each real time processor can be dedicated to running just one instance of an application. The processors can be of disparate types running disparate operating systems and optimized for disparate applications. The system is centrally controlled with the processors communicating among themselves over a shared LAN or via a communications switch. The system may also facilitate simultaneous voice and data communications among users. Users communicate with the system using any of a number of standard techniques: including dial-up telephone lines, ISDN, packet access services, ADSL, cable TV and the like.
