A mounting apparatus for mounting a panel to a structure. The mounting apparatus includes a panel extrusion that attaches to a back side of the panel such that the panel extrusion is obscured behind the panel in order to show a clean surface look. A connector extrusion secures the panel extrusion to the structure for simple construction.

Panel mounting apparatus and system

A structural panel has one or more face sheets bonded by adhesive layers to a core body having two outer plastic liner sheets fusion-bonded to linear ends of inner plastic truss elements spaced apart with open spaces therebetween extending in a plane direction of the plastic liner sheets. The sheet-to-sheet adhesive bonding provides a high-strength laminate bonding that is very resistant to delamination, simple and inexpensive, and can be carried out by a preferred continuous sheet bonding technique. The all-plastic core body is highly resistant to moisture attack, and the open spaces between truss elements provide flexibility to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction. The truss construction of the core body provides high compressive and shear strength, while minimizing the amount of material required to be used. In one preferred embodiment, two metal face sheets are used, and the core body has plastic liner sheets fusion-bonded to a corrugated plastic core sheet. The corrugated plastic core sheet can be formed by a continuous plastic extrusion technique. Diagonal plastic webs or perpendicular plastic I-beams may also be used for the truss elements. Another preferred embodiment has two metal face sheets bonded to two plastic core bodies which in turn are bonded to a center foam core layer. A further embodiment has only one metal face sheet bonded to one side of the plastic core body, allowing it to be used as veneer or curved around rounded structures.

Structural panels with metal faces and corrugated plastic core

An extrusion device for mounting a wall panel has an outer cap extending to an edge on at least one side which is positioned against an outer surface of a wall panel, having a pair of spaced-apart insertion fingers, and a receiver base having a planar mounting portion and a pair of angled receiver flanges projecting upwardly to receive the insertion fingers therein. The two-piece extrusion permits wall panels to be mounted or removed from the underlying wall structure in on-sequential order. The receiver base and cap can be provided on both sides to form an &ldquo;H&rdquo; type extrusion, or on only one side in a &ldquo;J&rdquo; type extrusion. Preferably, the outer cap is made of metal, and the tips of the insertion fingers are beveled at a slight angle of about 7&deg; to 14&deg; to allow easy insertion into the receiver flanges. The cap has compound water-shedding edges formed with a rounded rain-drip edge spaced in close proximity to a sharply inclined knife edge. In another variation, a one-piece extrusion device has a rear base portion and a front cover portion forming a pocket therewith, and a ramp formed on the base portion within the width of the front cover portion for gradually forcing the edge of a wall panel inserted in the pocket toward the front cover portion clear of the heads of screws used to mount the base portion to the underlying wall structure. The base portion is formed with a hook indentation on a back side of the ramp on a rear surface of the base portion, and interconnects with a &ldquo;Z&rdquo; type extrusion having a hook end to form a right angle connection. The one-piece extrusion may be formed as a &ldquo;J&rdquo; (one-sided), &ldquo;H&rdquo; (two sided), &ldquo;C&rdquo; (corner), or other suitable types.

Extrusion devices for mounting wall panels

A suture holder comprising a prestressed spring secured to extend longitudinally in and laterally through a slot in a bracket in such a way that one side of the spring is available to receive sutures such that the resilient force of the spring retains the sutures in the spring against the bracket is disclosed.

For mounting a structural panel to a wall, a wire clip is provided having a bail portion formed in an annular shape for insertion of a fastener element and fastening into an anchor member of the wall, and an arm portion extending from the bail portion having a linear shape for insertion into the inner core of the panel at an exposed lateral edge. The bail portion is offset from the arm portion both in a lateral direction and in a thickness direction of the panel so as to position the bail portion toward the wall anchor member when the arm portion is inserted into the inner core of the panel. The invention also includes the related method for mounting a structural panel to a wall using the wire clip device. In the preferred method, the panel is of the type having outer metal face sheets adhesively bonded to an inner plastic corrugated core formed with undulating corrugation spaces into which the arm portions of the wire clips are inserted. For mounting adjacent panels at a joint, respective sets of wire clips have their arm portions inserted into the inner cores of the adjacent panels and have their bail portions fastened with fastener elements along a centerline of the joint. The panels can be installed to form hair line joints by undercutting an overhanging front face on one panel, or to form outside or inside corners by cutting into a rear surface and bending the front surface of the panel to form the corner.

A sternal retractor for applying an opening force evenly along the respective edges of a patient's sternum during heart surgery comprises a curved rack having a length, a width, and a thickness, wherein the rack is curved in the thickness direction, hinged arms mounted to the rack, a cog mechanism for forcing one of the arms to move along the rack, and retractor blades pivotally mounted to the arms. An atrial retractor which are used to retract the left and right atrium connects to an arm of the sternal retractor by an H-shaped mounting rod assembly. The assembly comprises two elongated rods mounted in spaced parallel relationship by a clamp proximate the center of the rods. A ball clamp associated with the sternal retractor and atrial retractor comprises locking discoid blocks for releasably interconnecting a plurality of rods together.

A vascular occluder clip including a resiliently-biased pair of clamping elements extending transversely to longitudinally-extending members. Gripping loops or pads are provided for grasping by the user and compression of the members against the biasing force to separate the clamping elements. Annuloplasty and suture rings

A holder that aids the implantation of adjustable annuloplasty rings. The holder has an annular recess around its periphery, into which the inner portion annuloplasty ring containing the drawstring is retained, thus protecting the drawstrings from the implanting suture needle.
