A collaborative energy management system, method and program product for a multi-zone space. A system is disclosed including: a plurality of environment sensors located throughout the multi-zone space; an adaptive learning system that collects environment data from the environment sensors and generates a correlation model that correlates historical environment data with HVAC settings; and an optimization system that utilizes the correlation model, inputted preferences received from a plurality of occupants within the multi-zone space, and energy usage goals to periodically generate new HVAC settings for controlling an HVAC system for the multi-zone space.

Collaborative energy management system

Method, system and computer program product are provided for estimating a circadian phase of a subject by: obtaining a sensed biological signal for the subject; and using, by one or more processors, adaptive frequency tracking to adaptively estimate the circadian phase of the subject from the sensed biological signal. Circadian phase estimation may be accelerated by providing a feedback loop for the adaptive frequency tracking, which utilizes, in part, a circadian phase model in automatically ascertaining a phase correction for the adaptive frequency tracking. The circadian phase estimation may be used in automatically constructing a light-based circadian rhythm model for the subject using a linear parameter-varying (LPV) formulation, and once constructed, the circadian rhythm model for the subject may be used to provide light-based circadian rhythm regulation.

Circadian phase estimation, modeling and control

A robotic assistant, associated software and methodology for operating the same. The described robotic assistant includes: a motorized base having at least two motor driven wheels controlled by a first control platform; a dual arm robot mounted on the motorized base, the dual arm robot having a first arm and a second arm controlled by a second control platform; a remote sip and puff mouth controller having three degrees of operational freedom; and a computer system that receives command signals from the remote sip and puff mouth controller, and includes an algorithm that translates the command signals into a first type of control signal for directing the motorized base to move, and a second type of control signal for directing the dual arm robot to move.

Mobile human-friendly assistive robot

A microassembly method and system utilizing multiple probes. Multiple manipulation actuators can be utilized for maintaining/holding one or more probes and an assembly substrate. Multiple microscope cameras can be configured to provide three distinct workspace configurations. At the center of each manipulation actuator is a die stage, which supports the assembly substrate upon which parts are assembled. A glue dispenser can also provide glue to a part prior to placement.

System and method for probe-based high precision spatial orientation control and assembly of parts for microassembly using computer vision

An adaptive scanning optical microscope has a scanner lens assembly for acquiring images from different parts of an object plane and for forming a preferably curved image field having at least some aberration which varies as a function of the part of the object plane from which the image is acquired. A steering mirror selects the field of view and steers light from the object and along a light path from the object plane to a final image plane. An adaptive optics element receives the steered light from the object and compensates for the field position dependent optical aberrations and additional optics are along at least part of the light path for conditioning and focusing the light as it moves from the steering mirror, past the adaptive optics element and to the final image plane.

Adaptive-scanning optical microscope

Preferred embodiments of the invention implement techniques for modifying the command trajectory, the architecture of a servomechanism control system, or both, to reduce the servo error during and/or after the command trajectory. An iterative refinement procedure generates for use by the servomechanism control system a corrective input, du, which significantly reduces the error between the desired and actual servomechanism control system outputs. In one embodiment, a uniquely identified plant model is employed in the iterative refinement procedure to compute an approximate gradient that improves the performance and reliability of the refinement procedure. In another embodiment, the actual plant response is used in place of the identified model in the iterative refinement procedure. This is accomplished by time-reversing the stored error signal from a training run, before applying it to the plant to generate an update to the corrective input signal du.

Adaptive command filtering for servomechanism control systems

An optical system is provided for creating a mosaic image of a large field of view through a microscope at fast refresh rates of about 25 Hz with a high resolution that is free of blurring or aberrations. The optical system includes an objective lens assembly (), an iris (), one or more scanning mirrors () for high-speed scanning, one or more imaging lenses and irises (), and a high-speed imaging device () arranged in that order from an object. The optical system also includes a mechanism for processing and constructing scanned and captured images into a mosaic image.
