A low pressure enclosure (LPE) vehicle can include a hull defining a cabin therein. The hull can be configured to travel within a LPE and the cabin can be configured to be pressurized. The LPE vehicle can include a supplemental oxygen system configured to be activated and/or made accessible to one or more occupants within the cabin in a depressurized state such that a cabin pressure is less than a threshold cabin pressure.

A pulsed oxygen delivery system is disclosed for a closed breathing environment, which includes a source of gaseous oxygen, a phase dilution type oronasal dispensing mask worn by a user in a closed breathing environment defined by a pressure suit, and a pulse control module for delivering a timed and metered bolus of oxygen from the source of gaseous oxygen to the oronasal dispensing mask upon inhalation by the user.

An environmental control system for a space vehicle includes an oxygen supply, a nitrogen supply, a first pressure control panel having a first oxygen control board configured to receive an oxygen gas from the oxygen supply and a first nitrogen control board configured to receive a nitrogen gas from the nitrogen supply, and a supervisory controller configured to control the first pressure control panel and thereby to adjust a partial pressure of oxygen and an ambient pressure of an oxygen/nitrogen gas mixture within a first module.

Extensible habitat pressure control for planetary and orbital space vehicles

A pulse modulated oxygen dispensing and pressurization system provides a variable range of controlled oxygen bolus to an enclosed breathing environment supporting and maintaining required pressure conditions in accordance with desired flow demand. As oxygen is consumed by the user from within the enclosed breathing environment, the exhaled gases and moisture are conditioned or vented to acceptable levels by additional systems associated with the environment. These additional systems cause an ongoing need to replenish the oxygen within the environment and maintain the required partial pressure of oxygen. Specific to one of a plurality of modes of operation, the system responds to changes in regulated output pressure by delivering a precisely metered periodic bolus volume of oxygen to support a requirement of the environment volume. The bolus is variable based on a plurality of factors to increase and decrease changes in rates of flow required to maintain regulated pressure.

A control system for an aircraft system can include a controller configured to connect to one or more subsystems of the aircraft system, the controller having a built-in-test (BIT) module configured to test the one or more subsystems of the aircraft system and output test data. The control system can include a wireless communication module operatively connected to the controller and configured to receive the output data and to output a wireless signal as a function of the test data.

This gauge stand will adhere to a metallic surface in the field so that a technician can hang gauges from the short hollow pipe and work hands free on the equipment to be serviced while at the same time viewing the gauges that are normally used with this type of job. The gauge stand is designed to be portable and should be made to withstand extremes in temperature and all types of environments. A short hollow pipe will enable the technician to store commonly used small items in the short hollow pipe; an insert will be placed in one end of the short hollow pipe to ensure that the small items do not spill out when the device is taken apart.

Disclosed herein is an overhead passenger service unit (PSU) for a vehicle, comprising: a mounting mechanism for mounting the PSU above at least one vehicle seat; a dynamic seat row marker that provides an indication of a seat position and a status portion indicating a status of a passenger or trip aspect that is readily viewable from a vehicle aisle and is changeable during a trip; and a programmable active display that is readily viewable from a passenger seat and provides trip changeable information about the trip to the passenger.

In an illustrative embodiment, an integrated speaker-light unit includes a base unit adapted to be mounted to a fixture of an aircraft, a speaker unit disposed proximate the base unit, a horn element having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end positioned proximate the speaker unit and defining a first aperture, and the distal end defining a second aperture, where a greatest measurement of the second aperture is larger than a greatest measurement of the first aperture, an LED unit disposed at least partially in the horn element, and a housing element at least partially surrounding the horn element. The greatest measurement of the second aperture may be less than 4 inches. The base unit may be mounted to a passenger service unit such that the integrated speaker-light unit is presented as a passenger reading light.

A safety enhancement for a safety belt comprises an actuator housing mechanically coupled to a first end plate, a rotor blade, an orifice plate, a second end plate, a coil, and a spring cover by an actuator axel. The orifice plate comprises an orifice that allows hydraulic fluid to pass from a first side of the rotor blade to a second side of the rotor blade in order to increase or decrease tension on a safety belt to reduce user movement.

An oxygen delivery unit (20) having a housing (22), a release plate (24), an oxygen generator (26), a respirator assembly (28), a release lanyard assembly (30), and an activation lanyard assembly (32) allows the use of generators (26) having longer operational times. The release plate (24) is flexible and has curled and uncurled positions, and the generator (26) is attached to the release plate (24) which is biased toward its uncurled position. The release lanyard assembly (30) engages the generator (26) to hold it in a stored position inside the housing (22). The release lanyard assembly (30) and the activation lanyard assembly (32) extend between the generator (26) and the respirator assembly (28), so that when an individual pulls the respirator assembly (28), the generator (26) is ignited and shifted to an activated position spaced apart from the housing wall (38). Bumper pads (52) engage the release plate (24) to dampen vibrations and inhibit noise when the generator (26) is in the activated position. A lanyard pad (54) is provided to contact an ignitor (90) of the generator (26) to prevent activation lanyard lines (118) from becoming looped around the ignitor (90). A flexible heat shield (59) is interposed between the generator (26) and the housing wall (38) to deflect heat away from the housing wall (38). Both the heat shield (59) and the flexible plate (24) conform to an outer configuration of the generator (26) to save space.
