A building array () comprising at least one building element () having a first face (), a second face () and a peripheral edge member (), the first face and second face being spaced apart to define an intermediate portion (), the peripheral edge member extending around the intermediate portion whereby at least a portion of the peripheral edge member comprises an edge profile (); and at least one boundary element () comprising a planar base member () removably attachable to a structural support element (), at least one flange () extending substantially orthogonally from the planar base member and an edge restraining formation () extending laterally from the flange remote from the planar base member. The edge restraining formation is configured for releasably engaging with the edge profile of the building element. Building array

An improved fastener comprising: a screw element () and a cover member (). Combined insert and screw element

In one form of building structure, trim installations are applied around window or door frame openings and at internal or external corners of a building. The trim serves both an aesthetic purpose in adding a decorative feature to building envelopes and also adds an additional weatherproofing purpose in allowing for more complete weatherproofing of building envelope corners and openings. The present invention relates to a concealed fastening building finishing element system that enables concealed fastening of finishing elements such as trim components, fascia boards, frieze boards, belly band boards, and the like to an underlying structure and to the fixings used in these systems. The invention is particularly useful with trim elements around window and door frame openings and at building corners.

System for concealed fastening of building finishing elements

A structural fiber cement sheet containing cementitious matrix and reinforcing cellulose fibers distributed throughout the matrix having a dry density less than 1.25 g/cm, a thickness less than 0.7500 in, and able to withstand uniform loads of 200 psf or greater according to test method of Section 6.4.2.4 of PS2 and with a deflection of less than 0.067 inches at 60 psf when spaced on a span of 24 inches or less on center.

Structural fiber cement building materials

An exemplary composite product and method of manufacturing is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes dewatering a first slurry through a dewatering belt to form a first substrate layer, applying a first functional layer onto at least a portion of the first substrate layer, and dewatering a second slurry through the dewatering belt to form a second substrate layer. A first side of the second substrate layer may be overlayed onto the first functional layer, and the layers may be cured, and the layers bonded.

Composite product

A composite product comprising a substrate layer and one or more functional layers applied thereto. The slurry is applied to the substrate layer to form a functional layer and the functional layer dewatered through the substrate layer. The functional layers can be repeated to build up a laminated composite product. Functional additives may be included in each layer to provide desired properties to that layer and indeed to the subsequent composite product.

Method and apparatus for forming a laminated sheet material by spattering

An apparatus ( ) for applying a slurry to a substrate ( ). The apparatus includes a delivery drum ( ) incorporating a delivery surface ( ) disposed to support a layer of slurry. A spattering roller ( ) is positioned closely adjacent the delivery drum and is rotatable so as to spatter the slurry from the delivery surface onto the substrate. Regulation means selectively vary or interrupt the flow of slurry from the delivery surface onto the substrate.

A method of construction of partitions ( ) including the steps of erecting a structural steel frame from spaced apart frame members ( ), the frame members having boxed mounting flanges ( ) and being formed from a metal having a relatively high tensile strength, applying at least one layer of sheet material ( ) to at least one side of the frame, and securing the layer of sheet material ( ) to the frame by means of self-piercing impact fasteners ( ). Construction technique and structure resulting therefrom

A process for constructing a wall, floor or ceiling in situ. The process includes the steps of erecting a substantially rigid frame ( ) and attaching fiber reinforced cementitious sheets ( ) to the front and rear faces of the frame to form a void ( ) therebetween. This void ( ) is then filled with a lightweight aggregate concrete slurry and allowed to cure. The sheets are adapted to absorb sufficient moisture from the lightweight aggregate slurry to provide natural adherence of the concrete slurry to the sheets without substantially losing their structural integrity during setting and curing of the concrete slurry.
