The invention pertains to a photosensitive element, particularly a photopolymerizable printing form precursor; a method of preparing the photosensitive element to form a printing form for use in relief printing; and, a process of making the photosensitive element. The printing form precursor includes a layer of a photosensitive composition, a digital layer that is adjacent to a side of the photosensitive layer, and a cell pattern layer that is disposed between the photosensitive layer and the digital layer. The cell pattern layer includes a plurality of features in which each feature an area between 5 to 750 square microns and is composed of an ink that is opaque to actinic radiation and transparent to infrared radiation. Since the cell pattern layer is integral with the printing form precursor, digital imaging can occur rapidly with relatively low resolution optics to form a mask without needing to also form a microcell pattern of the digital layer. The printing form precursor having the integrated cell pattern layer facilitates the preparation of relief printing forms to have a print surface suitable for printing solids with uniform, dense coverage of ink.

The invention pertains to a printing form precursor, a method of preparing a printing form from the precursor, and a process of preparing the precursor. The printing form precursor includes a photopolymerizable layer, an elastomeric layer having at least an elastomeric binder and particulate, and an actinic radiation opaque material on, adjacent, or disposed above the elastomeric layer opposite the photopolymerizable layer. The particulate is selected from specific material particles having an average diameter from 1 to 10 micron and a refractive index that is within 0.04 units of an index of refraction of the composition forming the elastomeric layer.

The present invention pertains to a dye-based inkjet ink set with a lightfast cyan ink and, more particularly, to a dye-based inkjet ink set suitable for printing on fabrics, especially polyamide fabric. This invention pertains to a computer-implemented method and program for the comparison of color gamuts. Using first and second collections of sample color points respective hulls are created in a color space. The set of all of the points disposed on the surface of the a hull or within the volume enclosed thereby represents the respective color gamut. The hulls are combined, preferably by a Boolean operation, to create a third hull in the color space representing at least one region of overlap or at least one region of exclusion between the first color gamut and the second color gamut. The volume of at least one of the hulls may be calculated and compared to the volume of the region of overlap and/or the region of exclusion. A visual display of the contour produced by the intersection of one or both of the hulls with a plane perpendicular to a predetermined reference line in the color space may be created to ascertain qualitatively the degree of alignment of the first and second hulls along the reference line. The determination of whether a given color point lies within a hull may also be made.

A system and method are disclosed for ink jet printing of wide format substrates such as textiles in a manner to simulate screen printing, in which image data in one or more acceptable formats is input, transformed into a suitable L*a*b* file format, further converted into a driver format for a printer, then communicated to such printer.
