An electromechanical horn having a generally L-shaped housing containing a sound generating system including a piezoelectric speaker generates a series of short, audible sound signals in a repetitive pattern, the generated sound signals having fundamental frequencies with associated harmonic component frequencies and decibel levels that fall within a frequency range of from about 3 kHz to about 10 kHz, and decibel levels in a range of from about 75 dB to about 115 dB to disperse or deter an aggressive animal in a non-detrimental manner. The lower portion of the horn is configured to be held in the palm of a hand of a user. A strap mounted on the back side of the housing forms a loop that can be grasped by the palm of the user's hand, or extended over the back of the hand, and a depressible thumb button disposed at the back end of the upper portion receives the user's thumb.

Electromechanical horn for deterring animals

An electromechanical horn having a sound generating system including a piezoelectric speaker generates a series of short, audible sound signals in a repetitive pattern, the generated sound signals having fundamental frequencies with associated harmonic component frequencies and decibel levels that fall within a frequency range of greatest hearing sensitivity of the animal to disperse or deter an aggressive animal in a non-detrimental manner. The generated sound signals have fundamental frequencies with associated harmonic component frequencies that fall within a frequency range of from about 3 kHz to about 10 kHz, and decibel levels in a range of from about 75 dB to about 115 dB (SPL) at 1 meter. The horn device can be hand-held, attached to a user's belt or clothing, or removably attached to a bicycle, motorcycle, stroller, or other conveyance or object and can be actuated while attached or quickly removed and actuated when needed.

Additive broadcaster

The apparatus and method comprise a concrete float with a vibratory additive broadcaster assembly attached therewith. The broadcaster assembly is suspended above the plane of the finishing tool with a vibratory source attached. The broadcaster assembly is filled with an additive and the apparatus is placed on a wet, concrete surface that is to be treated and finished, by a user. Actuation of a power switch by the user activates the vibratory source resulting in the substantial broadcast of additive on to the concrete surface at the desired location(s) on the slab as determined by the user. Vibration damper devices are utilized to minimize the vibrations experienced by the float. The additive is integrated into the concrete or other wet surface by passage of the float over the surface being treated.

Apparatus and method for applying additives to a concrete mix

The apparatus and method comprise a concrete float with a vibratory additive broadcaster assembly attached therewith. The broadcaster assembly is suspended above the plane of the finishing tool with a vibratory source attached. The broadcaster assembly is filled with an additive and the apparatus is placed on a wet, concrete surface which is to be treated and finished, by a user. Actuation of a power switch by the user activates the vibratory source resulting in the substantial broadcast of additive on to the concrete surface at the desired location(s) on the slab as determined by the user. The additive is then integrated into the concrete by passage of the float over the treated concrete surface.

A vented BGA package is reconfigured by first applying a continuous bead of adhesive around the perimeter of the package to seal the gap between the lid and substrate. The continuous bead defines a channel through the pressure relief vents to a polarity through-hole in the lid. The BGA package is reflow soldered to a PWB at an elevated temperature using solder flux, clean or no-clean. The IC die achieves elevated temperature pressure relief through the pressure relief vents along the channel and out the polarity through-hole. After reflow a seal is applied to plug the polarity through-hole. The PWB is washed in an aqueous cleaner solution to remove flux residue. The continuous bead of adhesive and the seal form a cleaner solution barrier that prevents the solution from contacting conductors inside the package. The seal may be removed or left intact depending on the operating environment.

Systems and/or methods are described that enable a credential interface. These systems and/or methods may build a credential user interface enabling a user to choose between multiple credentials and submit an authenticator for a chosen credential. These systems and/or methods may also gather information about arbitrary credentials and build a user interface for submission of authenticators for these arbitrary credentials.

Credential interface

A credential is translated with one of different credential provider modules each translating a corresponding different type of credential into a common protocol. The translated credential is communicated through an API to a logon UI module to an operating system (OS) of a local machine. An OS logon module is called by the logon UI module to authenticate the translated credential against a credential database. A user identified by the translated credential is logged on to access the local machine when the authentication is successful. The credential can also be used with a selection received from the logon UI module via a corresponding one of different pre-log access provider (PLAP) modules that each communicate with the API. The API establishes a network session with an access service specified by the selected PLAP module when the credential is authenticated with the credential database.

Interoperable credential gathering and access modularity

A system and process for interacting with a system in an insecure state is described. Before logging into a secure state of a computer system, a user is able to access limited information including calendar information regarding meetings for that day and the like. In some aspects of the invention, a user may interact with a displayed note pad for receiving handwritten or typed notes. Aspects of the described system and method permit a user to quickly review or interact with a computer prior to logging into a secured state of the computer system.

Pre-login data access

Stacking frying pans on top of each other tends to damage their non-stick coatings. Accordingly, a frying pan protector comprises a concave dish positioned between two stacked frying pans. The dish is made of a sufficiently yielding material to prevent scratching the non-stick surface on the bottom pan. The top surface of the protector is shaped to conform to the underside of the top frying pan. Spacers projecting from the bottom of the dish elevates it so that it supports the underside of the top frying pan. The spacers also minimize the surface area in contact with the non-stick coating on the bottom frying pan for further reducing the possibility of damage.
