In some examples, a method is performed by a Diameter signaling router (DSR) for a telecommunications network. The method includes receiving, from a policy related node, a policy related message including a subscriber identifier associated with a subscriber; determining that the policy related message lacks APN information; after determining that the policy related message lacks APN information, using the subscriber identifier and preconfigured APN information to generate or identify a binding between the subscriber and a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) server of a pool of PCRF servers, or using the subscriber identifier to identify a first bound policy and charging rules function (PCRF) server of a pool of PCRF servers; and sending, to the identified PCRF server, the policy related message received from the policy related node.

In one example, a method includes, before reconfiguring the SBR database, selecting a first plurality of SBR servers for storage of a first plurality of SBR records using a first assignment algorithm. While reconfiguring the SBR database, the method includes selecting a second plurality of SBR servers for storage of a second plurality of SBR records using a second assignment algorithm and searching for a first plurality of stored records in the SBR database based on both the first and second assignment algorithms. After reconfiguring the SBR database, the method includes selecting a third plurality of SBR servers for storage of a third plurality of SBR records using the second assignment algorithm and searching for a second plurality of stored records in the SBR database based on the second assignment algorithm and ceasing searching in the SBR database based on the first assignment algorithm.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for managing suspect subscriber bindings. In some examples, a method is performed by a Diameter signaling router (DSR) for a telecommunications network. The method includes binding a subscriber to a first policy and charging rules function (PCRF) server selected from a plurality of PCRF servers for the telecommunications network. The method includes determining that one or more messages destined to the first PCRF server have failed according to one or more user-configurable rules defining failure. The method includes tearing down the binding between the subscriber and the first PCRF server.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for detecting and managing suspect subscriber bindings

The present invention provides a system and method enabling telephony service subscribers to activate, deactivate, make service changes, and access call-related information from telephony services provided by a telephony service provider. According to one aspect, the service management system of the present invention interacts with subscriber terminals connected to a public data network. The service management system receives requests from subscriber terminals and converts the requests into a format compatible with terminal emulation programs, such as the Telnet protocol, running on end office switches. Using the converted request information, the requested service changes are made or the requested call-related information is collected by the end office switches with little or no intervention by service provider personnel.
