Display assemblies with enhanced fan control are disclosed. An electronic display is located within a housing. A controller receives readings from sensors located at an airflow pathway extending within the housing and determines which of the readings is, relatively, furthest from a predetermined, associated parameter. The controller drives fans located at the airflow pathway based on the relatively furthest one of the readings in accordance with a control scheme including reading-dependent, preprogrammed operating parameters for the fans.

Fan control for electronic display assemblies

Display assemblies and related systems and methods are provided which provide condensation mitigation. A cover layer forms a forward portion of a housing for an electronic display located rearward of the cover layer. A continuous airflow pathway extends entirely within the housing such that the continuous airflow pathway is partitioned from an ambient environment. One or more gaskets are provided which, at least in part, partition the continuous airflow pathway from the ambient environment. The one or more gaskets extending from an interior surface of the cover layer to a portion of the housing.

Display assemblies with condensation mitigation and related systems and methods

Display units for prioritizing requested operational updates are disclosed. A control subsystem is in electronic communication with an electronic display, sensor(s), and a thermal management subsystem. The control subsystem operates the display unit based on operational parameters which are specific to readings from the one or more sensors. Requests to update operational parameters for the display unit are received at the control subsystem and are prioritized for implementation.

Display units with automated power governing

Display assemblies utilizing air characteristic data to verify internal operating conditions and related systems and methods are disclosed. The display assembly includes a side assembly, including an electronic display, is connected to a structural framework. Sensor(s) are provided, at least one of which is located at, or fluidly connected to, a closed airflow pathway. A controller receives data from the sensor(s) and determines whether an initial indication of an operating condition exists. If so, a testing routine is initiated, additional data is received from the sensor(s) during and/or thereafter. The controller confirms whether the operating condition exists based on the additional data.

Display units with vandalism deterrence are disclosed, along with related systems and methods. A display unit includes electronic display(s), shock sensor(s), and a controller which receives data from the shock sensor(s). Where the controller determines that the data received from the shock sensor(s) is outside of one or more predetermined parameters, the controller initiates a vandalism deterrence protocol for the display unit.

Display assemblies and related systems and methods are provided which provide modified operations for condensation control. A controller calculates a dewpoint spread between a dewpoint temperature for air at the display assembly and an internal temperature for the display assembly determined based, at least in part, on data received from one or more sensors located along an airflow pathway extending within a housing for an electronic display. The controller continues to operate the display assembly in a modified operating mode until the dewpoint spread is determined to be above a predetermined threshold by at least a predetermined clear parameter. The controller continues to not operate in the modified operating mode unless and until the dewpoint spread is determined to be less than the predetermined threshold by at least a predetermined buffer parameter.

Display assemblies with condensation control are disclosed. A cover is positioned forward of an electronic display layer located within a housing. Fans and sensors are located at an airflow pathway extending within the housing. A controller receives readings from the sensors, determines which of the readings is, relatively, highest, and drives each of said fans based on the relatively highest one of the readings in accordance with a control scheme for each of the fans, where the control scheme is dependent upon the readings.

Display units for executing operational updates in a prioritized fashion are disclosed. A control subsystem is in electronic communication with an electronic display, sensor(s), and a thermal management subsystem. Requests to update established operational parameters for the electronic display and the thermal management subsystem are received at the control subsystem. The established operational parameters include operational parameters specific to sensor readings. The control subsystem determines which of the requests would provide a largest change to the established operational parameters if implemented, and prioritize that, largest, one of the requests for execution.

Display units with automated power governing features and related systems and methods are disclosed. A control subsystem is in electronic communication with a power subsystem electrically connected to an electronic display, temperature sensors, and a thermal management subsystem for the display unit. The control subsystem includes at least one governor which monitors external power supply and internal power demand, and where either of the external power supply or internal demand exceeds respective predetermined thresholds, commands reduction to power levels of the electronic display.

A display assembly with condensation control includes an electronic display and airflow pathway located within the housing. At least one sensor is located along said airflow pathway. A controller in electronic communication determines a local dewpoint and an internal temperature for the display assembly based, at least in part, on data received from the at least one sensor, calculates a dewpoint spread between the dewpoint temperature and the internal temperature, and initiates modified operations where said dewpoint spread is less than a predetermined threshold.

Condensation control systems and methods for display assemblies are provided. A cover forms part of a housing for an electronic display, the housing accommodating an airflow pathway. Temperature sensors located along the airflow pathway measure temperature which is reported to a controller. The controller determines a dewpoint temperature and calculates a dewpoint spread between the dewpoint temperature and the measured temperature. Where the dewpoint spread is less than a predetermined threshold, modified operations are initiated by the controller.

An electronic display device includes a housing for an electronic display to form an assembly. A thermal management subsystem forms part of the assembly and utilizes ingested ambient air from immediately outside said assembly to thermal manage the assembly. Data is received from one or more sensors pertaining to at least one characteristic of the ingested ambient air at times during operation of the assembly. Operating parameters of the assembly are automatically adjusted when the data indicates a difference in the measured at least one characteristic at the times, and when said difference exceeds a threshold value.

System and method for detecting gas recirculation or airway occlusion

A display assembly system which detects abnormal operating conditions, such as gas recirculation or airway occlusion, is provided. An electronic display is located within a housing. Sensors measure characteristics of ambient air ingested by a thermal management subsystem. Weather conditions are gathered for a location, and measurements are received from the sensors regarding characteristics of the ingested ambient air. An alert is generated if the measurements change at a rate different from a rate of change of the weather conditions by at least a predetermined amount.

Systems and methods for measuring power consumption in a display assembly are provided. Images are displayed at an electronic display subassembly. A simulated electric meter is electrically interposed between a utility electric supply and at least the electronic display subassembly and measures power consumed by at least said electronic display subassembly. Cumulative power measurements may be recorded by the simulated electric meter for each image displayed at the electronic display subassembly.
