A motor assembly including a housing with a motor portion having an opening for receiving a motor housing/stator assembly, rotor assembly, front and rear end caps and bearings, an encoder coupled to the motor, and an rear cover for enclosing the opening of the motor portion of the housing, the rear cover at least partially surrounding the encoder. At least one of an interior surface of the rear cover or an exterior surface of the encoder comprise a material having an emissivity greater than 0.9.

Radiation heat transfer of internal motor components by electro-magnetic waves

An electric motor assembly that eliminates external component-to-component assembly seams between coupled packaging hardware that would inhibit the creation and maintenance of, for example, IP 66 and IP 67 seals while utilizing inexpensive existing motor shaft rear bearing supports and also creating additional internal electronic packaging space. The disclosure provides an assembly with a continuous (e.g., no interruptions or seams) surface area to support IP sealing of the entire packaging-to-package interface between a primary motor frame (e.g., housing) and externally attached secondary/ancillary electronic hardware.

An electric motor assembly including a housing, a rotor, a stator supported in the housing, the stator having a plurality of individual windings, at least one thermostat for monitoring a temperature of at least one winding, and a thermostat clamp interposed between adjacent windings of the stator, the thermostat confined between the thermostat clamp and at least one winding.
