A warning light system for a traffic intersection for alerting pedestrians and operators of passenger vehicles to the approach of an emergency vehicle. The warning light system is activated only by sounds in the range of frequencies which are emitted by the siren of an emergency vehicle. The warning light system has a warning light assembly having a control unit, and also has an audio sensor unit. The warning light assembly has a blue light and a white light, which flash alternately and repeatedly, after receipt of an audio signal by the audio sensor unit from the siren of an emergency vehicle, and processing of that signal by the control unit. The lights of the warning light assembly continuously flash until the sound emitted from the siren is no longer detectable by the audio sensor.

Plugging in the reactor may thus be inhibited or prevented.

Method and apparatus for reacting oxidizable matter with particles

A method and apparatus are provided for removing oil from absorbent materials of the type used in components for absorbing oil and containing oil spills. The components are first passed through a press to squeeze some of the oil from the components. The components are then shredded to separate the components into separate pieces of the absorbent materials. An auger pushes the pieces of absorbent materials into an elongated tubular trommel having a perforated sidewall. The pieces of absorbent materials are sprayed with treatment fluids as the trommel is rotated to tumble the absorbent materials within the trommel. The oil and treatment fluids drain from the absorbent materials, and pass through the perforations in the trommel sidewalls and onto a collection trough. The collection trough directs the oil and treatment fluids through a separator to reclaim treatment fluids and oil for later use. The absorbent materials within the trommel continue to be tumbled as they pass through a drying section in which hot air from a furnace is blown through the pieces of the absorbent materials. The absorbent materials then pass to a repacking section where they are repackaged into components for use in absorbing oil and containing oil spills.

High temperature reactions are conducted within a high pressure reaction vessel. The interior surfaces of the high pressure containment vessel are protected from the high temperature and corrosive effects of the reaction by causing the reactants to converge in a vortex which contains the highest reaction temperature within the central portions of the reactor. A toroidal reaction vessel is disclosed in which the reactants are directed into a vortex at the axis of origin of the torus by flow guides.

Methods of controlling flow of fluids reacting at supercritical

A method of recycling of oil filters utilizes a shredder and a thermal unit. The oil filters are shredded into metal and porous media particles. The shredded matter is placed in a thermal unit and heated. The heat will be sufficient to convert the porous media to an ash, but not sufficient to melt the steel. After heating for a sufficient duration, the shredded metal particles will be separated from the ash and recycled. The ash will also be recycled.
