An inlet ramp for an aircraft engine is constructed as a movable panel which is internally cooled by fluid coolant. At a selected time, the coolant flow is terminated allowing the panel to overheat and melt away so as to expose an underlayer of ablative material. The ablative material then begins to melt away thereby cooling the underlying surface of the aircraft via ablation.

Cooling system for high speed aircraft

A portable dispenser is described which is adapted to mount removably on a bottle pump tube. A desired volume of liquid from the bottle is pumped into the interior of the dispenser. The dispenser is then removed from the tube and the measured amount of liquid is dispensed. In one embodiment, two dispensing devices are sequentially activated to dispense the measured amount of liquid.

Portable, measured volume dispenser

A portable dispensing appratus which includes a resiliently deformable dispensing reservoir adapted to mount removably on the uppermost end of a dip tube which extends into a bulk container of liquid. The dip tube includes a one-way inlet valve near its lowermost end which prevents flow of liquid out of the dip tube, but which permits flow into the dip tube. Suction created by compressing the resiliently deformable reservoir causes liquid to enter the dip tube through the one-way inlet valve and to flow into the reservoir. The dispensing reservoir can then be removed from the dip tube and taken to a location where it is desired to dispense all or a portion of the liquid. The liquid is dispensed by squeezing the resiliently deformable reservoir, thereby forcing the liquid out through the nozzle. A one-way, pressure-operated outlet valve is preferably located in the dip tube inside the bulk container to permit compression of the resiliently deformable reservoir after placement of the reservoir on the dip tube. The one-way, pressure-operated outlet valve permits return of the bottle of any air and/or unused liquid in the reservoir, thereby ensuring that a full measure of liquid will be drawn into the reservoir for the next dispensing cycle.

Dispensing apparatus having portable means for dispensing predetermined

A dispensing container has a spout formed of opposing walls of supple, imperforate material joined along their side edges with at least a portion thereof being formed over a curved surface. The aforementioned portion of the spout is thus set in a curled condition in the direction of discharge with the walls in face-to-face contact to effect a valving action. The spout can include a metering chamber to permit a desired quantity of fluid contents to be separated and milked through the curled portion to the discharge end of the spout. If desired, the entire dispensing container can be similarly formed over a curved surface so that the empty end of the container opposite the spout will also assume a curled conformation as the container's contents are discharged through the spout.

Dispensing container and method of assembling it

A disposable, sterile infant nurser comprising a resilient, liquid-impermeable container bag the peripheral edge of which has a corolla-like configuration; a relatively rigid, upstanding circular neck secured to an opening in the bag, the neck including means for holding the nurser projecting radially outwardly adjacent the base of the neck; an apertured nipple releasably secured to the neck; and a removable cover overlying the nipple and holding it in retracted position substantially within the confines of the neck. A measured amount of dry infant formula is provided within the container bag adjacent the perimeter of the bag. The nurser is completely self-contained, lightweight, compact, adapted for home or hospital use, and can be packaged by vertical stacking in a sterile container.

Disposable infant nurser

Method and apparatus for imparting a predetermined shape to discrete units of product of dough-like consistency. In a preferred embodiment, said method comprises filling an image containing cavity exhibiting said shape with said dough-like product and thereafter removing said product from said cavity without substantially altering its shape by causing said cavity to assume an image substantially symmetrical to its original image. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the image containing cavity is lined with a resiliently deformable diaphragm, and the cavity is turned inside out by applying fluid pressure to the surface of the diaphragm opposite the product.
