The present disclosure relates to and envisages a jetstream power generating system. Producing electric power from jetstream force presents specific, daunting, physics-based challenges, because jetstream forces are 30 to 50 times stronger than wind on the ground. The system is configured to harness the energy of these jetstream forces in farms as power generating infrastructure. The system comprises an airborne element configured to be subjected to lift forces while flying in a jetstream, a capstan drum, a tether coupled between the airborne element and the capstan drum, an arcuate guide track, a kite tracker displaceably mounted on the guide track, a conversion unit coupled to the capstan drum, a plurality of accumulators configured to fluidly communicate with the conversion unit, and a generator. The kite tracker is configured to securely guide the tether to rotate the capstan drum in a first direction with a force equivalent to the lift force to facilitate payout of said tether, and to rotate said capstan drum in a second direction when said tether is reeled in. The conversion unit is configured to be driven by the capstan drum, when the capstan drum is rotated in the first direction, to pressurize hydraulic fluid passing there through. Each accumulator is configured to receive, store and release the pressurized hydraulic fluid therein. The generator is configured to receive the pressurized hydraulic fluid to facilitate generation of electric power.

Jetstream power generating system

A whole-body transmission x-ray scanner includes a collimated x-ray source, a linear x-ray camera configured to detect x-rays, a counterweight, and a positioner that aligns the source and ray camera and moves the source and camera synchronously to scan and acquire radiographic images of an object located therebetween. The positioner comprises a cable alignment assembly connecting the counterweight directly to the x-ray source and camera to maintain alignment of the source and camera during a scanning mode in which the source and camera move from one end of the object to another end. The positioner comprises a motor, a bi-directional crossover slide track bearing assembly connected to the source, and a conveyor operatively connected to the motor and to the slide track bearing assembly to move the slide track bearing assembly in a loop that correspondingly translates the source and camera along a single linear axis.

Whole-body transmission x-ray scanner and methods for whole-body scanning

A whole-body transmission x-ray scanner includes an x-ray source, an x-ray camera, a controller, and a positioner aligning the source and camera to point x-rays towards the camera and moving the source and camera synchronously to scan and acquire radiographic images of an object located therebetween. The positioner includes a closed-loop cable alignment assembly fixed to the source and to the camera to maintain alignment of the source and camera during a scanning mode in which the source and camera move from one end of the object to another end. The positioner includes a motor controlled by the controller, a bi-directional crossover slide track bearing assembly connected to the source, and a conveyor connected to the motor and bearing assembly such that, actuation of the motor by the controller moves the slide track bearing assembly in a loop that correspondingly move the source and camera along a single linear axis.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system comprises a hangar structure configurable to mount on a host platform. The hangar structure comprises electrical circuits comprising a charging circuit and a communications circuit. The UAV system further comprises a plurality of stackable UAVs. The plurality of stackable UAVs comprise respective batteries and control circuits. The plurality of stackable UAVs are configured to cooperate with the charging circuit to charge the batteries and to cooperate with the communications circuit to communicate with the control circuits while the plurality of stackable UAVs are in a stacked configuration within the hangar structure.

The supervisory node is adapted to receive sensor information, to receive functionality information and device status information, to determine useful life prognostics from the functionality information, to obtain human defined policy and strategy directives, to assess the useful life prognostics and device status information based on the human defined policy and strategy directives to provide device assessments, to construct device commands for the plurality of electronically controlled distributed devices based on the device assessments using the processor, and to communicate the device commands to the plurality of electronically controlled distributed via the communications interface.

Artificial intelligence augmented reality command, control and communications system

A novel method and apparatus to apply a corrosion protection in the form of a zinc (or other sacrificial anodic material) tape to a tubular member such as pipe or coiled tubing to used as an underground or underwater pipeline or flow line is disclosed. The zinc tape is applied with sufficient heat and pressure to form a metallurgical bond between the zinc tape and underlying metal pipe. This allows the zinc tape to act simultaneously as a continuous protective metal barrier to the normal scrapes and nicks the pipe experiences during installation and as a sacrificial anode. The novel apparatus preheats the zinc tape with a nozzle containing heated gas such as nitrogen as it approaches the pipe surface. At the point of contact with the pipe surface, the nozzle continues heating the tape and pipe surface while a plurality of pressure rollers exert sufficient force on the zinc tape to form a metallurgical bond between the zinc tape and the pipe surface. Thus, the zinc tape becomes bonded to the outer surface of the pipe and acts as both a protective barrier and sacrificial anode.
