A portable power bank including a rechargeable battery may detect loss of capacity in the power bank battery. The power bank determines a nominal capacity of the power bank, and an actual capacity of the power bank, the actual capacity being less than the nominal capacity. The power bank compares the actual capacity to the nominal capacity to determine a health value of the power bank battery. When the power bank battery health value is at or below a threshold value, the power bank transmits an indication of the health value to a mobile computing device.

Monitoring capacity of a power bank battery and devices charged therewith

A portable power bank including a rechargeable battery and/or a remote server may detect loss of capacity in the power bank battery. The power bank and/or remote server determines a nominal capacity of the power bank, and an actual capacity of the power bank, the actual capacity being less than the nominal capacity. The power bank and/or remote server compares the actual capacity to the nominal capacity to determine a health value of the power bank battery. When the power bank battery health value is at or below a threshold value, the power bank and/or remote server transmits an indication of the health value.

Integrated monitoring capacity of a power bank battery and devices charged therewith

A portable power bank for charging a rechargeable device is described, and a dynamic charging efficiency is monitored while the power bank is charging the rechargeable device. Particularly, instantaneous power output of a battery of the power bank is compared to power received by a battery of the rechargeable device to determine efficiency. The charging of the rechargeable device by the power bank is interrupted and/or resumed based upon the charging efficiency at any given time, thereby preventing inefficient use of the power bank.

Integrated monitoring charging efficiency of a rechargeable device via a power bank

A portable power bank and remote server are described, where a rechargeable device includes a rechargeable battery that receives electric charge from the power bank via an electrical connection. Systems and methods facilitate determination of a 'number of potential rechargings' of the rechargeable device battery via the power bank, e.g., how many times the power bank can charge the rechargeable device battery to a desired fuel gauge (e.g., 100%) before the power bank is depleted. The number of potential rechargings is determined by the remote server based upon the desired fuel gauge of the rechargeable device, present fuel gauges of the rechargeable device and the power bank, and charging efficiency factors corresponding to the rechargeable device and the power bank, respectively.

Integrated determination of charges remaining via a power bank

A portable power bank for charging a mobile computing device is described, and a dynamic charging efficiency is monitored while the power bank is charging the mobile computing device. Particularly, instantaneous power output of a battery of the power bank is compared to power received by a battery of the mobile computing device to determine efficiency. An apparatus includes a charger and a plurality of connectors such that a connector includes a switch and a connection between the charger and the connector. The charger is configured to direct a switch associated with one of the plurality of connectors to connect the connector with which it is associated to the charger. The charger is also configured to charge a device connected to the connector according to a type of battery detected in the device. A plurality of devices is charged using a prioritized charging scheme.

A hybrid power supply includes a fuel cell and an interface between the fuel cell and a fuel cartridge or external battery and a switching type DC/DC boost type converter that receives energy from the fuel cell or external battery and is arranged to deliver the energy to a rechargeable cell. The hybrid power supply also includes a fuel cell current sensor/comparator, included in a feedback control loop disposed about the DC/DC converter, which controls in part operation of the converter to provide constant current discharge on the fuel battery side of the hybrid power supply. Fuel cartridge interconnect for portable fuel cells

A electronic device includes an electrical component powered by a battery and a compartment to receive the battery. A low voltage cutoff circuit is configured to couple to the battery. The low voltage cutoff circuit includes a switching device having a control terminal, a current sourcing terminal and current sinking terminal and a resistor coupled between the control terminal and a first terminal of a battery. The circuit has first and second output terminals. The first output terminal is coupled to the first terminal of the battery and the second output terminal is coupled to the current sourcing terminal of the transistor. The first and second output terminals are configured to accept connections to positive and negative terminals of the electrical component.
