A system for obtaining optical coherence tomography of the optical system of a person, comprising: an eyepiece customized for alignment and positioning to contact a person's eye socket and having a lens pocket for receiving a refractive lens customized for the person's eye refraction characteristics; a condensing system for receiving light from the eyepiece; a scanning module optically connected to the condensing system and having a mirror tiltable in two directions for obtaining optical scanning data from the person's optical system; and a spectrometer and camera module optically connected to the scanning module for obtaining and storing the optical scanning data, wherein the eyepiece, condensing system and scanning module are arranged to provide an optical path for delivering a light beam to the person's eye, and receive reflected light to be directed to the scanning module.

Apparatus and method for self-administration of optical scanning of a person's eye optical system

A method of performing a retinal examination is described wherein perimetry points are selected in three dimensional imaging data of the retinal tissue. The corresponding points in register with these perimetry points are mapped to an en-face image. These corresponding points are used as stimulus locations for a micro-perimetry examination.

Method for performing micro-perimetry exams based on a retinal volume image and a well registered fundus image

A method of performing spectral OCT imaging on a target involves repeatedly scanning said target along a transverse scanning line with an object beam derived from an OCT interferometer having a narrowband source. The wavelength of the narrowband source is modulated over a range of wavelengths at a rate that is slow relative to the rate of scanning the target. The object beam returned from the target is detected to produce a set of data obtained from multiple scans along said scanning line over the entire range of wavelengths. The data is then processed to extract an OCT image (typically a B-scan) of the target containing depth information.

Swept source OCT apparatus

A paint gun assembly including a spray head and a connecting manifold. The spray head includes a bore terminating in a radially extending space of gradually increasing radius. The bore receives a shaft that has an axially extending bore which connects with radially extending bores in which balls are contained. The shaft also contains a plunger with a rounded end, engaging the balls. When forced into the axial bore, the plunger forces the balls into the radially extending bores and out into the tapered, radially extending space. The plunger engages a cam which is exposed at a surface of the manifold body and includes a hexagon drive to adjust the angular rotation of the cam using a suitable key. The manifold body provides a recess for receiving a retaining pin, whose end is received in the cam guide profile. Axial movement of the cam is resisted by a compression spring.

Pressure monitoring device for a paint spray gun

An air valve for a paint gun includes a closure member configured for fitting in a valve chamber of a paint gun, which valve chamber intersects an air flow chamber of the gun. The closure member having two sealing points which, in use, when the valve is in its closed configuration, seal against an inner surface of the valve chamber at opposing sides of the air flow chamber thereby closing the airflow chamber. The valve further includes a conduit passing through the closure member providing fluid communication between the first and second sealing surfaces, and a biasing element for biasing the closure member into the closed position when no external load is applied.

Air valve for a paint gun

In an OCT apparatus, an object light beam is returned from a target and interferes with a reference light beam. Image information is obtained from a depth Z in the target that depends on the optical path difference between the object and reference beams with a resolution that depends on the coherence length of the light. A scanner transversely scans the target with the object beam over a plurality of image points defined by the resolution of the apparatus. Interface optics directs the reference and object beams onto an array of detector elements such that the optical path difference between the reference beam and the object beam varies across the array. The reference beam and the object beam interfere with each other over the array of detector elements for individual image points on the target during each transverse scan. A memory stores a subset of data points corresponding to each individual image point obtained from each detector elements of the array. A processor processes one or more of the subsets of data points to derive image information extending over a range of depths in the target for each individual image point. The obtained image information is displayed on a displace device.

En-face OCT with parallel detector array

A visual acuity examination is performed on a patient by bringing a confocal imaging apparatus up to a patient's eye. Stimuli at various points in the patient's field of view are generated while the patient fixates on a point. The patient's responses to the stimuli are recorded with the movement of the eye with is tracked with the aid of the confocal imaging apparatus. The position of said stimuli on the retina is corrected to take into account any movement of the eye between stimuli.

Method for performing micro-perimetry and visual acuity testing

Apparatus for obtaining depth profile information from a transparent object, includes a confocal scanner for producing an en-face image of the object in an x-y plane, a spectral optical coherence tomography (OCT) apparatus for producing an OCT scan along at least one line in the z direction passing through a point in the x-y plane, and a display device. A processing unit displays on the display device the en-face image and an indication of the position of the point so as to permit the location of the OCT scan to be determined on the en-face image. The position point can be adjusted by the user when viewing the image. In other embodiments, SLO and OCT images are produced from a common aperture, and spectral OCT images are produced simultaneously with fluorescence images.

Optical imaging apparatus with spectral detector

OCT apparatus includes an interferometer, having an input beam splitter and a 50/50 output splitter. The splitting ratio of the input splitter may be optimized depending on the source power of light source and on the mismatch of the balanced receiver. The input splitter is a plate beam-splitter to minimize the stray reflected light in the interferometer and allow sequential operation of the apparatus in the OCT or in the confocal regime. The switching between the two regimes may be at will, or synchronous with the en-face scanning which results in quasi-simultaneous OCT/confocal imaging or in alternatives frames, confocal and OCT. By using polarization sensitive elements, two channels are provided in each regime, OCT and confocal. The two confocal polarization sensitive channels may allow adjustments of compensators prior to OCT measurements or OCT imaging.

Optical mapping apparatus with optimized OCT configuration

A scanningdelay line for use in optical coherence tomography apparatus has a tiltable mirror, and optical convergence means for converging light incident, a dispersive element for dispersing light incident, and an optical-redirector for changing the direction of an icident beam light. The tiltable mirror, optical convergence element, said dispersive element, and optical redirector means are arranged in an optical configuration such that in sequence the dispersive element directs an input beam toward the optical convergence element, the optical convergence element directs the input beam toward the tiltable mirror, the tiltable mirror reflects the input beam as a first return beam toward the optical convergence element, the optical convergence element directs the first return beam toward the dispersive element, the dispersive element directs the first return beam toward the redirector, and the redirector redirects the first return beam toward the tiltable mirror via the optical convergence element in a direction such that the tiltable mirror reflects the first return beam toward the optical convergence optics element as a second return beam and the optical convergence element directs the second return beam toward the output port as part of an output beam bypassing the dispersive element and such that the output beam lies along substantially the same axis regardless of the angle of tilt of said tiltable mirror. The tilting said mirror varies introduces a variable optical delay into said output beam between the input and output pods. The delay line can be used in the transmission one of the arms of OCT interferometers, resulting in reduced walk-off and loss.

Transmissive scanning delay line for optical coherence tomography

A retrofittable pressure gauge for a spray gun includes a pressure sensor, located in a pressure chamber, a power source and a display unit, all enclosed within a case, a passageway providing fluid communication between the pressure chamber and a pressurised interior space of the spray gun when the gauge is mounted on the spray gun and a mounting fixture configured for mounting the pressure gauge at a spreader valve or a trigger operated fluid valve of the spray gun.

An optical coherence tomography (OCT) apparatus includes an optical source, an interferometer generating an object beam and a reference beam, a transverse scanner for scanning an object with said object beam, and a processor for generating an OCT image from an OCT signal returned by said interferometer. At least the optical source, the interferometer, and the scanner are mounted on a common translation stage displaceable towards and away from said object. A dynamic focus solution is provided when the scanner and a folded object path are placed on the translation stage.
