An end cap for an exhaust treatment device is disclosed. The end cap has a cylindrical housing with an axial direction, a radial direction substantially orthogonal to the axial direction, a first open end, and a second closed end opposing the first open end in the axial direction. The end cap also has an integral port member extending from an annular surface of the cylindrical housing. The integral port member has a central axis aligned in the radial direction, and an exterior surface of the integral port member tangentially connects to an exterior surface of the cylindrical housing.

Exhaust treatment device having flow-promoting end caps

A connecting duct for providing a fluid pathway between an outlet of a low pressure compressor and an inlet of a high pressure compressor is provided. The connecting duct includes a main body that defines a fluid pathway adapted to direct a flow of fluid between a main body inlet and a main body outlet. The main body also includes a diffusing section that decreases a velocity of the flow of fluid. A flow de-swirling section is disposed between the diffusing section and the outlet of the main body. The flow de-swirling section straightens the flow of fluid.

Connecting duct for fluid compression system

A variable flow venturi assembly for use in an exhaust gas recirculation system of an internal combustion engine having a housing with an inner chamber, a combustion air inlet in communication with the inner chamber, and an exhaust gas inlet in communication with the inner chamber. A venturi valve is slidably disposed within the chamber. A venturi valve has a longitudinally extending throughhole with an inlet opening in communication with the combustion air inlet, an outlet opening and a venturi section interposed and in communication with each of the inlet opening and the outlet opening. The venturi valve further has at least one bypass port and at least one induction port. Each bypass port is in communication with a combustion air inlet and a throughhole. Each induction port is in communication with the exhaust gas inlet and the throughhole. An actuator slidably moves the venturi valve within the inner chamber of the housing.

Constant flow rotary spraying device

A rotary mechanism having improved seal life including a housing defining an operating chamber having a wall configuration based on a desired geometrical shape which is an n order harmonic curve where n is an integer of 1 or more, a shaft journalled in the housing and having an eccentric within the chamber, and a rotor within the chamber and journalled on the eccentric and having a working surface based on the desired geometric shape and which is an n+1 order harmonic curve to define n+1 equally angularly spaced apexes or noses on the surface. n+1 seals are carried by the rotor, one at each apex or nose and timing gearing interconnects the rotor and the housing to establish relative rates of rotation between the housing, the shaft and the rotor. The chamber wall further is defined by an n+1 harmonic curve superimposed on the n order harmonic curve which minimizes relative movement between the seal and the rotor to improve the life of the seals.
