A method of operating a controller includes: obtaining calibration data for a mounting orientation of the controller operating in a calibration mode based on obtaining first acceleration samples from an acceleration sensor; obtaining second acceleration samples from the acceleration sensor when a control switch is activated with the controller operating in a normal operating mode; performing a comparison of the second acceleration samples to the calibration data; based on the comparison, determining whether more than one of the second acceleration samples is not within a specified range; and in response to determining that more than one of the second acceleration samples is not within the specified range, causing the controller to operate in an anti-tamper mode.

A wireless remote controller includes a housing including front and rear enclosures defining a PCB cavity, a PCB disposed within the PCB cavity, a switch, communication circuitry to generate wireless signals, and a button to actuate the switch. The button includes a button body having a button portion and first and second button sidewalls having a retaining finger to engage the support board. The button width is substantially the same as the housing width. The wireless remote controller may include a mounting cavity formed in a rear surface of the housing which includes first and second converging cavity sidewall extending from a base. A mounting plate removably secures the wireless remote controller to a wall and includes first and second converging mount sidewalls each including a rail. The cavity sidewalls and the mount sidewalls include a first and second rail and a first and second channel.

A wall plate system for an electrical device, including but not limited to indoor wall switches, includes a wall plate and a shield. The wall plate defines an aperture, and the wall plate is configured to receive a portion of an electrical device in the aperture. The shield extends at least partially through the aperture, and the shield is configured to form a seal between the wall plate and the electrical device.

A wall-mounted wireless battery charger for a wireless remote lighting controller includes: a wall plate configured to removably retain the wireless remote lighting controller; and an inductive charging transmitter circuit coupled to the wall plate, the inductive charging transmitter circuit being configured to wirelessly interface with an inductive charging receiver circuit of the wireless remote lighting controller when the wireless remote lighting controller is retained by the wall plate. The inductive charging receiver circuit is configured to wirelessly receive power from the inductive charging transmitter circuit and generate a direct current (DC) voltage to charge a battery of the wireless remote lighting controller.

Sensor

A sensor that that can be, but do not have to be, communicatively coupled with luminaires, includes a sensor module having an electronics board and a battery enclosure. The electronics board includes a sensing component, a controller, and a flex antenna. The battery enclosure is couple with the electronics board and includes a base and a side wall having an outer wall surface. The flex antenna is supported on the outer wall surface such that the flex antenna forms a radially outermost portion of the sensor module, and the flex antenna is conformable to a profile of the outer wall surface. In certain aspects, the sensor module is configured to support a power source on the sensor module. In some cases, the sensor is an indoor sensor.

An antenna assembly includes a radio frequency (RF) connector connected to a first end of a coaxial cable and a wire antenna attached to a second end of the coaxial cable. The wire antenna may be made of a shape memory alloy, such as nitinol. Examples of RF connectors include U.FL, IFEX, WAX, IPX, AMC, MHF and UMCC connectors that allow the wire antenna to be removably attached to a printed circuit board (PCB) of a lighting control device and to avoid hardwiring the antenna to the PCB. The device that includes the antenna assembly may be incorporated into a luminaire for wireless control of the luminaire. The lighting control device may be installed within the luminaire, such that the wire antenna is positioned between a light source and a diffuser. A number of such luminaires may be combined to provide an intelligent lighting system.

A sensor and control module is provided that includes an antenna formed as an integral component of a lens fastener or a housing of the module. A lens may be attached to the housing by the lens fastener. The module may further include a light responsive detector located in the housing so as to receive light through the lens, circuitry configured to generate a control signal dependent on the light sensed by the light responsive detector, and a wireless radio-frequency transmitter coupled to the antenna and configured to wirelessly transmit the control signal via the antenna. The sensor and control module may be incorporated in a luminaire within a wireless lighting control system.
