A flexible member used as a rope in a mesh has an outer sheathing which is easy to touch and an inner core which is shrinkable so that when used in a mesh which is suspended on a frame, it pulls the frame tautly by the shrinkage of the inner cords. Also, a connection between a support member and a border can be effected using one way mechanical fasteners. Shrink nets can be further used on a frame without sheathing with a twisted cord.

A free standing perimeter net system is disclosed. The perimeter net system is comprised of a support arm, a support cable, an uplift brace, at least one net system brace, a back plate, a pivot, a vertical support, a strut, and a pair of strut brackets. These components work together to allow a safety net system to easily be installed around a structure without directly attaching to the structure. The support arm rotates between an open and a closed position on the pivot. This configuration allows the net, which is attached to the support arm, to be deployed at various angles. When the support arm rotates, the uplift brace also adjusts and aids in securing the support arm and net in the desired position. The vertical support couples the net system to the building or structure via the back plate and strut. The net system braces are also attached to the vertical support and provide added rigidity to the net system.

Free standing perimeter net system

Described is a corner extension mounting system used to secure a net system to buildings or structures that have obstructions such as corners. The corner extension mounting system easily and quickly attaches to a floor beam or other structure around the perimeter of a building or structure. The corner extension mounting system includes a mounting bracket, a corner extension, a support bracket, and a cantilever arm. The mounting bracket is adjustable and also reinforces the corner extension and the support bracket. The support bracket attaches to two cantilever arms that are positioned perpendicularly around the corner of a building. The cantilever arms are attached to the support bracket with pivot pins that allow the cantilever arms to rotate. A debris net is suspended between the upper end of the cantilever arm and the building. Among other things, the corner extension mounting system allows for easy installation of a net system around a building or structure undergoing construction or maintenance.

A perimeter net system with the capability of rotating between an open and a close position is described. The perimeter net system includes a support arm, a lock arm, a support arm storage lock, a support cable, a pivot bracket, and a net. These components work together to allow a safety net system to easily be folded against a building for repairs or in inclement weather conditions. The support arm rotates to a closed position on the pivot bracket, and the lock arm adjusts with the support arm. Once in the closed position, the support arm storage lock secures the support arm and the lock arm in place.

The invention resides in a system and method of tensioning a net comprising a frame having at least two opposing frame members and a net extending therebetween. The net is made from material of cords of a water soluble yarn capable of high shrinkage rates when wetted with water and dried. A tensioning device may be provided along one of said frame sides for causing tensioning of localized regions in said mesh after said mesh is wetted with water. The invention further resides in a method of tensioning a net to a frame having at least two opposing frame members and the net extending therebetween such that by sizing the net larger than said frame and mounting the net onto the frame such that the border is located outside of the frame and wetting the net and allowing it to dry, the net shrinks around the frame taking up play otherwise existing prior to the wetting step.

A net and related method employs weft and warp members arranged in an alternating diagonally disposed pattern such that portions of each weft and warp member are made to turn ninety degrees through nodes such that each member at one point makes up at least one rung and one rail of the net. The net further is made from non-abrasive multifilaments consisting essentially of polypropylene or propylene ethylene copolymer.

Climbing net

The invention resides in an improvement in safety net system wherein the safety net is formed from an improved material which is resistant to weakening by ultraviolet radiation, hence does not need to be dyed or treated, and therefore is shrink and sag controlled. The invention further resides in a connection and method for making such connection between a safety net and a debris net for supporting same as a unit in an assembled condition and/or an improved connection between a border member of a safety net and its associated mesh.

The invention resides in a method of providing a barrier in an environment comprising the steps of providing a structural member which is part of the environment; providing a flexible foam coated fine mesh material capable of being folded on itself and providing said mesh material with a means for securing said mesh material to a structural member in said environment and securing said mesh material through said means to said structural member to provide a barrier between one environment and another.

A system for connecting a panel to a support comprises a mesh panel defined by at least one length portion and has a border connected to the length portion of the mesh panel. The border has a first end capable of being connected to a support and a second end adjustably connectable to an opposite support. A tensioning means is associated with the border second end for pulling the border in tension between the supports. The second end of the web is connectable to the tensioning means for tensioning the mesh panel material.

Aesthetic barrier/debris system and material

A system for connecting a panel to a support comprises a mesh panel defined by at least one length portion and has a border connected to the length portion of the mesh panel. The border and has a first end capable of being connected to a support and a second end adjustably connectable to an opposite support. A tensioning means is associated with the border second end for pulling the border in tension between the supports. The second end of the web is connectable to the tensioning means for tensioning the mesh panel material.

A member for use in net construction comprises a sheathing with an internal core, the internal core has a very low stretch capacity and the outer sheathing has a much larger stretch capacity but allows intersplicing of crossing members within the lattice or between a border member comprised of such a material and the free end of the weft and warp members.

A single post anchor for lifelines is provided with a generally elongate member having at one end a means configured to engage about a structural member and having a clamping assembly which acts on another surface of the structure to secure the anchor in place. A swivel is provided as part of the anchor to which a retractable lifeline device or the like is attached.
