An electrical connector includes a housing including a front housing and a rear housing matable to define the housing. The front housing and the rear housing are molded as a single piece with a hinge member connecting the front housing and the rear housing. The rear housing is rotatable about the hinge member from an open position to a closed position. The front housing has front terminal channels configured to receive terminals and the rear housing has rear terminal channels aligned with the front terminal channels when the rear housing is rotated to the closed position but not aligned with the front terminal channels when the rear housing is in the open position. The rear terminal channels are configured to allow the terminals to at least partially pass therethrough into the front terminal channels during loading of the terminals into the housing.

Electrical connector

A connector assembly which has a housing and a cover. The housing has a connector mating face and a cover mating face. The cover is removably attached to the housing. The cover has a wire receiving cavity with an opening at the end of the cavity. One or more receptacle carrier receiving cavities extend through respective openings on either side of the housing, thereby allowing one or more receptacle carriers to be inserted into the respective receptacle receiving cavities through the respective openings on either side of the housing. The cover can be positioned on the housing in different orientations.

Connector assembly with receptacle carriers

An electrical connector is provided that includes a housing that has a mating end and a carrier receiving end. The housing includes a rail that extends through the carrier receiving end into a chamber defined by the housing. The electrical connector also includes a carrier configured to be loaded into the chamber from the carrier receiving end. The carrier has terminal channels that are configured to receive terminals therein, and retention latches configured to retain the terminals in the terminal channels. The carrier also has a groove that is configured to receive the rail of the housing when the carrier is loaded within the housing. When a terminal is not fully inserted within a terminal channel, the retention latch in the terminal channel is deflected outward into the groove. The retention latch interferes with the rail of the housing and prevents further advancement of the carrier into the chamber.

An electrical connector is disclosed having a housing having at least one row of terminal receiving passageways. Each passageway includes a locking latch. An overstress protection rib is positioned below each latch. A channel extends through a front wall of the housing and adjacent to the at least one row of terminal receiving passageways, and on the opposite side of the latch. A terminal position assurance member (TPA) has a pre-locked position with the TPA positioned forward of the latch allowing the latch to resile into the channel, and a fully locked position where the TPA is positioned underneath the latch.

A bulkhead connector assembly is provided having an outer housing that has an internal chamber. The outer housing has a sealing section configured to seal an exterior of the outer housing within an opening. A terminal housing is configured to hold a plurality of terminals. The terminal housing is received in the internal chamber. The terminal housing has primary locking mechanisms configured to secure the terminals in the terminal housing. An independent secondary lock (ISL) is separately provided from, and coupled to, the terminal housing. The ISL is configured to secure the terminals in the terminal housing and assure they are properly seated.

Bulkhead connector assembly

A ground terminal is provided for a vehicle. The ground terminal includes a hub having an opening extending therethrough. The opening is configured to receive a fastener for attaching the hub to the vehicle. A plurality of electrical contacts extend radially outward from the hub. Each electrical contact extends outwardly from the hub to a free end portion. The free end portions of the electrical contacts are arranged in an arcuate pattern.

Ground terminal assembly for a vehicle

An electrical connector assembly is disclosed having a main housing portion, camming slide mounting in camming slide receiving guides of the main housing portion, a wire guide and a lever. The lever is operably coupled to the camming slides to translate the camming slides upon rotation of the lever. The lever is mounted to the wire guide, and the combination of the wire guide and the lever are reversible to reverse the orientation of the wires in the wire dress.

An electrical connector includes a housing having a plurality of terminal passages. Each terminal passage has a deflectable latch for securing the terminal within the passage and is configured to permit an electrical terminal to be inserted into the passage. Openings are provided proximate the deflectable latches, with each opening extending from a first terminal passage of the plurality of terminal passages to an adjacent second terminal passage. Projections extend from side surfaces of the terminal passages, with at least one projection extending into each terminal passage. At least one projection is positioned to cooperate with a side surface of a respective deflectable latch to prevent the deflectable latch from being overstressed. The openings and the projections allow the terminal passages to be closely spaced thereby reducing the size of the connector while providing overstress protection for the deflectable latches.

An electrical connector assembly is shown having a housing member with a mating assist which rotatably draws complementary connectors together. The mating assist is actuated by way of a linear actuator which rotates the mating assist member.

An electrical connector assembly is comprised of a main housing portion and a front housing portion. The main housing portion and front housing portion receive a terminal therethrough and are rotatable relative to each other. The front housing portion has a terminal receiving cavity which receives the base portion of a terminal, and the main housing portion has a terminal receiving passageway. The terminal receiving passageway has a terminal receiving aperture which aligns with the terminal receiving cavity, which when rotated overlaps the terminal receiving cavity to lock the terminal therein.

An electrical connector assembly is described which has an electrical connector housing and a TPA. The electrical connector housing has terminal receiving cavities with openings which access the cavities. Latching projections are located within the openings. A TPA is insertable into the electrical connector housing and has latching which cooperates with the latching projections.

An electrical connector assembly includes a plug assembly for mating with a header. The plug assembly includes a plug housing and a lever, where the lever includes gear teeth which cooperate with a tooth on the header in a rack and pinion fashion. The lever is locked to the plug housing when the lever is poised for the plug housing to be inserted into the header. A release member on the header releases the lever from the locked position allowing the lever to be rotated to the position where the lever gear teeth mesh with the header tooth, to draw the plug assembly into the header.

A connection system is shown where a lever-assist member may be added to assist in the mating between two connector housings as is needed depending upon a number of connector terminals loaded and the mating force between them. The lever-assist member is also locked in place by the interaction of the pivot-assist member and the corresponding latching structure of the connectors. The lever-assist member, when moved into the disconnection condition, has a projection which holds the cantilever beam arm of the latch in a position allowing the two connectors to be disconnected, which does not require the user to continue depressing the latch at the same time as rotating the pivot-assist member.

A lever mated connector assembly including a housing configured to mate with a header, a wire guide mounted to the housing having a latch with a retaining surface, a lever having a catch with a retaining surface and being coupled to the housing for rotational movement between an unlocked position and a locked position wherein the catch retaining surface engages the latch retaining surface to inhibit movement of the lever out of the locked position, and a connector position assurance ('CPA') device having a locking surface and being mounted to the wire guide for movement between a first position and a second position wherein the locking surface inhibits movement of the latch, thereby further inhibiting movement of the lever out of the locked position.
