Systems, methods, and devices including a plurality of hybrid capacitors for storing energy as both electrical potential and chemical potential. An energy storage bank comprising the plurality of hybrid capacitors is coupled to a battery management system configured to monitor parameters of the plurality of hybrid capacitors and selectively access at least a portion of the plurality of hybrid capacitors to provide electrical power output.

Hybrid capacitor energy storage

A pitch energy module comprising one or more ultracapacitors storing electrical energy for a wind turbine emergency pitch energy event. The pitch energy module replaces at least one battery within a battery housing of a wind turbine and interfaces with the existing battery wiring harness to communicate with a control system of the wind turbine. The pitch energy module is installed without further modification to the battery housing or the battery wiring harness.

Ultracapacitor pitch energy module

An energy storage system and energy storage module for providing electrical energy to a generator start energy system or other electrically driven system. One or more ultracapacitors are included within the energy storage module for storing and providing electrical charge via a two-post electrical connection of the energy storage module. A mountable housing of the energy storage module provides a variety of mounting orientations within a compartment of the generator start energy system or other electrically driven system.

A flow control apparatus for controlling the flow of a low pressure air stream in an air duct of an air ventilation system includes a conduit section having spaced upstream and downstream ports in upstream and downstream portions thereof, a redirecting member in the conduit section for redirecting air in the upstream portion thereof so that it passes outwardly through the upstream port, and a loose flexible membrane operable for redirecting air passing outwardly through the upstream port so that it passes back inwardly through the downstream port. The apparatus further includes an outer housing defining an enclosed chamber around the outer side of the membrane and a controller for controlling the air pressure in the membrane in order to selectively collapse the membrane around the ports in the conduit section. The controller is operative for controlling the air pressure in the chamber by selectively connecting the upstream end of the conduit section to the chamber and selectively bleeding air off therefrom.
