A method for image processing acquires a digital image as a collection of image pixel data and identifies the acquired digital image as a faded image. One or more statistical values is calculated to characterize the distribution of digital image values over a range for a first color channel. The range of values for each of the color channels is expanded. At least first and second non-overlapping sub-ranges of the expanded range of values are identified for each of the color channels, wherein a boundary between the sub-ranges is defined according to the calculated statistical value for the first color channel. The first sub-range is expanded and the second sub-range for each of the color channels compressed to form a color balanced image that is displayed.

Method for assisted image improvement

A digital camera for capturing an image containing the photographer, comprising: an image sensor; an optical system for forming an image of a scene on the image sensor; a processor for processing the output of the image sensor in order to detect the presence of one or more faces in a field of view of the digital camera; a feedback mechanism for providing feedback to the photographer while the photographer is included within the field of view, responsive to detecting at least one face in the field of view, and a means for initiating capture of a digital image of the scene containing the photographer.

A method of providing an all-in-focus video from a single captured video is disclosed. The method uses a processor to perform the steps of acquiring a single captured video of a scene such that during capture there are at least two differing focus settings by using the single captured video to provide a plurality of videos having at least a first video at the first focus setting and a second video at the second focus setting and providing an all-in-focus video from the plurality of videos.

A method for image processing, the method executed at least in part by a computer system, acquires a digital image as a collection of image pixels and calculates from a plurality of the image pixels, at least one statistical measurement. A processed image is formed by adjusting the acquired collection of image pixels according to the associated predetermined modification function setting and the processed image is displayed.

A method of making an image product includes receiving a template selection from a user, the template including a template graphic and a plurality of different openings in the template graphic, each opening surrounded by at least a portion of the template graphic. The method further includes receiving a single image selection from a user and compositing the single image into two or more of the plurality of different openings in the template graphic, so that two different portions of the single image are located in two different openings in the template graphic and the two different portions of the single image have the same relative locations in the composition as in the single image.

A system for making an image product includes a computer including a processor and a memory, a template stored in the memory, the template including a template graphic and a plurality of openings in the template graphic, an image stored in the memory, and the processor compositing the image into two or more of the plurality of openings, so that two different portions of the image are located in two different openings and the two different portions have the same relative locations in the composition as in the user image.

Systems and methods are provided for presenting digital images using a plurality of digital media frames separated spatially along at least two axes. In one aspect the method comprises the steps of obtaining the digital images to be presented determining the multi-dimensional relationship between the digital media frames analyzing the digital images and any associated metadata to assign an image perspective determination to each of the digital images and determining an arrangement of the digital images for presentation on the plurality of the digital media frames according to the multi-dimensional relationship between the digital media frames and according to the determined image perspectives.

A printing apparatus comprising a pivotable cleanout member attached to the housing using a hinge having an axis that is substantially perpendicular to the base. A latch holds the pivotable cleanout member in a closed position relative to the wall of the printing apparatus. On an opposite end of the cleanout member is a hinge mechanism that includes a pin member. The other part of the hinge is in the printer housing and includes a support member portion of the hinge mechanism.
